I love T-mac but where is the impact from this year's draft?
jopie87 replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
These two are going to hurt like an mf-er for a LONG time. 2. McConkey > Leggette - this was such an obvious choice 4. CJ Stroud > Bryce - SHOULD have been an easy decision as soon as we traded a king's ransom. -

We just suck at drafting and have had the worst GMs and scouts in the NFL for a while now Here are some easy decisions we could have made that were even OBVIOUS at the time that would have helped our team get some impact players throughout the last few years. 1. Payton Wilson > Trevin Wallace - like seriously, who tf even knew who Trevin Wallace even was? 2. McConkey > Leggette - this was such an obvious choice 3. Trey Smith > a fuggin long snapper - nothing else to say 4. CJ Stroud > Bryce - SHOULD have been an easy decision as soon as we traded a king's ransom. 5. Zach Frazier > Jonathan Brooks - Like WTF are we drafting an INJURED RB in the 2nd round when we already have Chuba. We've been avoiding drafting a center for how long now for some reason even though we've needed one ever since Kalil retired. These aren't "hindsight is 20-20" either, these are picks the majority of the huddle wanted at the time of our selection that were available. Instead we continue to draft players who just has high RAS scores with no regard to their actual film or stats in college. If you wonder why we continue to field the worst roster in the league, this is why. -

Do you really have to ask that question? -
Nothing was going to change the outcome of that game. Had this been a competent team then we can talk.
-
So you don't see any possible advantage of being down 2 going into that last drive instead of 5?
-
I don't know right now. Not super impressed with anyone at the moment but there's a lot of football yet to play.

Stack the effing box, make them.beat us through the air.

I have nothing bad at all to say about the T-mac pick.. I think we did the right thing there. But looking at our rivals to night and the significant contributions they are getting from their rookie class.. I'm pissed honestly. And it's not just from high end picks.. the fail-cons went aggressive and took 2 first round pass rushers in a deep pass rushing class it's paying off.. Now I can say it probably wasn't in our ability to take another player in the first round.. but in the second round I don't want to hear we couldn't have gotten a better edge.. book isn't written on nic and I don't think he's bad or anything just hasn't made an impact. Xavier Watts falcons second round sealed the game with an int. These young players are transforming their defense. what really pissed me off was in the 4th round with nic Scott penciled in as our starting free safety we passed on Billy Bowman Jr a ball hawk who feel because of poor run support but had like 12 ints in college for a 3rd string RB Trevor Etienne.. in the 4th Bowman starting for the falcons and had a game changing int and a near second one. Even if you had to have ettiene nobody penciled him in in the 4th. And we knew we needed a safety because 4 picks later.. we grab ta-da... Latham Ransom..

My thing with that is you can’t look at it in a vacuum. Things are symbiotic, if I am using that word right. I know that the playbook is a certain way because of Young’s skill set. Just opening things up to different options would change the whole thing for everybody involved. A whole new equation. Otherwise to the original idea, Wallace was a bad pick. I thought so last year when he got on the field and really never improved. And can’t think of them right now but I know there are examples of a coach or GM being great at a position but cannot fill it on his team. But Dan, that Wallace evaluation; wtf happened? But I think the 2025 rookies are looking pretty good if you are grading on a Panther curve. T Mac will make his QB better (I think we see that now). I really hope Zavala isn’t reverting to 2023 form. Because we will be screwed. Kicker couldn’t make it from what, 57? To me, if your defense is strong and is balling and you punt the ball, I won’t complain. This, today, wasn’t that. Canales is still a young coach and still green.

Is Bryce is going to have success at any level as a quarterback in the NFL he has to eliminate his turnovers. This was a very winnable game today without his turnovers.
-
Not the same scheme as 1997 dude
-
Still think that? Falcons D and pass rush look legit..... plus you know ROBINSON.
-
Our team is built to succeed on the assumption the O-line will dominate. They haven’t come close, and Bryce, the WRs and the Defense has suffered as a result. O-line and run game have to dominate or we lose.

Screw Atlanta. Divisional game. Anything can happen. I’d rather not accept defeat on Sunday night like some of you. -
Who is your favorite QB for us to draft at number 6 next year.
-
That draft was so easy. Ladd fell into your lap at 33. Take him. DeJean fell to 39, take him. No bullshiit trades. Could’ve easily been those two and Trey Benson.
-
His decisions to cut Renfrow and then sign him back to start him and then to have Yosh start at LT when Ikem was out should be enough to put him on the hot seat. That just shows incompetence.
-
I think McCarthy has the right mentality to make it as a QB I'm just not sure he's a good enough QB to make it as a QB in the NFL. He's just not an NFL level passer right now. His accuracy is really sporadic and you can tell he's really straining when he has to put some mustard on it and then his accuracy issues show up even more. He's got a lot of improving to do as a pure thrower of the football if he's gonna make it.
