Bryce Young is not an accurate passer. Thats not an opinion. I only care about deep ball passer if the Panthers run a scheme and O when it matters. And it matters in the Canales tree. Been talking about fit since the day he was drafted. He didn’t fit Frank. He doesn’t fit Canales.

He was definitely on an all star team. Look at Bama and Georgia's recruiting classes vs the rest of the SEC. In just Bryce's class, Bama and Georgia had 10 selections each of the 63 NFL draft picks. That's 1/3 of the draft class between 2 of 16 schools in the SEC and that's 1 recruiting class of 4. They have had the number 1 recruiting class 8 of the last 10 years and been #2 the other 2. You can't even pretend like Alabama is even remotely close in talent to the other SEC schools other than maybe Georgia. It's a landslide in their favor.

Tools are meaningless if they don't know how to use them.

Hooker is a Greensboro native, so I was pulling for him to make it here. Sorry that it didn't work out. Of course, I'm not saying he's dead in the water. Baker Mayfield and Same Darnold were flameouts here, so maybe he finds a new home elsewhere and rises up from these ashes. Our QB room sucks, but it might be something about how it was built and how it is developed. Either way, he wore the uniform here so he deserves our respect and a good luck on the way out the door.

I don't mind it..............just don't go drop an egg against the lowly Saints who just might have a worse QB room than ours.

Yet the funny thing is if you look at Bryce last 17 games and compare them to Strouds, you see Bryce has been better and putting up decent numbers.

Normally I’d hate it, but the way our guys are dropping like flies I can’t be mad at it. Don’t like calling it victory Monday but some rest could be helpful at this point.

He played in the SEC, he was still able to throw the ball deep to WRs on a regular basis. It’s not like he was on an all star team playing against horrible teams every week. He was going against NFL talent in the SEC weekly and also playing against other ranked teams with NFL talent as well. You make it seem like he was throwing the ball off target by yards every play and the WR was good enough to make up for that. Football is too quick of a sport for that to happen. You got milliseconds to catch the ball, even the fastest players can’t move but a few yards in the time it takes for them to try to catch the ball.

My guess. Brock Purdy and the S2 test. Mr Irrelevant Purdy had a breakout year and his S2 score was high and so was Bryce's and that test was supposed to be the end all, be all of QB tests where the Wonderlic was so unreliable. Remember, Stroud's results were leaked and he was being portrayed as an imbecile before the draft based on the scores. After their rookie season's when Bryce had one of the worst statistical performances ever and Stroud went to the playoffs, the S2 pretty much disappeared into oblivion as a determining standard of QB viability.

I didn’t think he would last. Still I don’t like not having a young QB on the roster to develop. I don’t understand why a team with the QB in question like us isn’t trying to develop a young QB on the roster that one day may be ready to go and will be familiar with the system.

Why Bryce was a top pick is a question we’ll never get an answer too because everyone involved in that decision has every reason to lie. as far as what he did at Alabama, he’s throwing to superior physical talent with superior blocking talent. There have been multiple breakdowns of his college throws and how he was never actually that accurate, at least in a way that would translate to the nfl. this isn’t unique to him. He just snuck through the draft process for reasons that are up to anyone to guess

Been watching Sellers and even saw him in person vs Bama. He's so electric running, but he does not have it passing this season for whatever reason. I would be wary of him for now, but things could change after the firing of Mike Shula. He's just been inaccurate and missing guys, I think he's seeing ghosts after a ravaged o-line has done damage to his confidence.

I would actually like to know how many times he has thrown a deep ball and had it dropped. Anyone? I would also like to know why he was the 1st pick. Because I never had a clue.

On the bright side, we may be building a halfway decent roster...to now plop the next QB into. If it's a Sam Howell type, I think we're largely the same team or *maybe* one win better. If it's a decent vet via trade, we're a playoff team. If we miraculously hit gold in the draft, our pants are coming off.

I honestly think it’s the coaching. Look how many plays we did short passes and screens. Also I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Bryce throw a deep ball and the WR drop it, as well as a few pass interference penalties and no calls that would have been at least 20 yards. before anyone says Bryce can’t throw the deep ball, explain what he did at Alabama? He can throw a ball deep. Why do you think he was a first pick and top qb prospect? also if you look at how many pass attempts Bryce is getting, it’s not a lot. It’s hard to get over 200 yards passing when you are barely throwing the ball 20 times a game. I also think we are very successful at running the ball and taking time off the clock so we don’t need to pass. Our defense isn’t the best so why expose them? Keep them off the field as long as possible.
