This also shows that they are really high on the young ins at WR and want to give them the opportunity to mature on the field instead of sideline mental reps.

I hope Renfrew comes back, but I doubt he does unless he doesn't have other offers. Kind of seems bush league to cut a guy and then try to get him back, but this is the Panthers. I suspect Renfrew isn't as great as us fans think because the people that watch him every day thought he was the 8th best WR on this team.

Yep, and if Bryce was Bryce, unfortunately he'd still be Bryce.

Amen. What will it take is the question. If it can happen in SF then there is always hope he will get tired of being an embarrassment. -

Agree to disagree. Neither was the most qualified candidate on the market that offseason. Both conceded to Tepper's demands to try and rescue Young in return for a job as an NFL HC and GM. They screwed it up when they traded the world for Young - but anyone with a brain knew that. -
He's talking about osteoarthritis which you get from playing line. Bent knees and exploding out of the stance causes permanent long term cartilage damage with turns into osteoarthritis. Once you're done playing and loose a bunch of weight it gets better for a little bit but it's always there. It sucks. lol

I don't buy that. They buried Bryce Young for dead 2 games into the season. That always read like an agreed upon deal w/ they hired the chunk ball downfield OC. Carolina just screwed it up.....they left the door cracked and a literal miracle occurred for Bryce that no one saw coming. Wasn't great but it fugged up the plan. That's why I equate it to the second worst botching under Tepper. The first was the botched in season tank job that blew up in Tepper's face. -

I'd take washed Andy Dalton over Devito. A PS flyer, that'd be ok. -

Tepper needs to see himself all the way out of football decisions. Tepper the businessman would've already fired Tepper the VP of Panthers Football Operations several times already. He needs to look himself on the mirror and see that and do that. -

Yeah I don't personally have much faith in this regime, but we can't reset every season. It's a tough call with the Frank Reich fug up. -
Everything revolves around Bryce This Year

I agree, I think we will have 3-4 wins. To me, that means some people should lose their jobs. -

Yep. Tepper has shown a very quick trigger finger on coaches and I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a reputation of him being very heavy handed in terms of his input on personnel decisions when it matters to him. Not exactly a situation that folks with options are gonna be chomping at the bit for. -
Lol yeah, he was wide open on the slant for a first down and he's out there running a route that the QB who has been in the system for two years didn't see coming. This is doing the mental gymnastics where the Panthers have to be wrong. He is old, he is dealing with injuries because he has been out of football and other WRs out played him this preseason. As of now, it looks like no one is signing him, so there goes the theory of us regretting it. Every year there is a guy that you all latch on to and he gets released. Before all of his health problems, he was slightly above average and maybe the people who were watching him everyday and evaluating didn't see what you saw. And that was nothing more than him getting open in one on ones and a couple other catches. And you are right he did do something else no one on the 53 did and that was run the wrong route causing confusion and causing an interception.

It honestly sounds like things behind the curtain need to change. Good guys got a look and refused to continue thr process. They need to change up how they manage the team is my take. These guys have had 2 years and still have a losing season lined up with a DC coming off of a historically bad D. -

They were both clearly hired on the premise that they'd try to rescue Young. -

My Spectrum cable bill was getting insanely high, so I cancelled it, but kept Internet at a special rate of $75/month. Already had Prime so added FanDual-South for $20/month. Quality is very good, haven’t had the glitches like on the FD app, that’s why I went with it. Only minus is you can’t get a yearly $199 rate like with the app but for the quality I’m ok with that. I also have well over a hundred free channels with my smart TV and local channels with a $17 antenna with signal amplifier. I watch Braves and Canes on FD.

no worries, I have spent years studying David Tepper at this point. He is already ahead of his "problem". Watch for Tepper to add the coach and bring in a former Panther WR to help mold these young kids up and teach them. Dwyane Jarrett should be rolling up any moment to teach them the subtle art of WR.
-
This move allows our young WRs to grow which is what we need. AT was only going to hold them back by taking reps away from them. We got something for a dude who is ready to retire and im sure he was happy to go back to the Vikings for his last season.

Gonna be interesting to see how that works out for them in the NIL/portal era. Not sure high level NFL prospects are going to want to sign up. -

The biggest issue with Tepper shopping for new GMs and HCs is that we are stuck shopping in the garbage bin and I think he found that out in the last go round. Anyone with other options simply didn't want to consider the Panthers until other options were exhausted. And I don't think simply outbidding the other owners is an option. Pretty sure Dave got a stern talking to after landing Rhule simply by offering a contract that the Giants weren't willing to touch. -

I was interested in Hooker during his draft year but man he looked like poo this preseason. That Tennessee offensive system really does nothing to prepare the players for the NFL
