Awful is a stretch but this fanbase does tend to lionize him to a ridiculous extent. TBH, I always thought he was the third best QB in franchise history.

I think that is because Bryce had a bad habit(not uncommon for younger QB's) of holding onto the ball and extending the play until he got into trouble. Sometimes the play just isn't there. I think the issue is that it seems Bryce may have swung too far to the other end of the scale. Not even Bridgewater checked down this much.

They won't. That complaint has been around for years. The owners don't care. I don't even think it has ever been brought up at a league meeting.

Bryce doesn't seem like he can really read the field well. He's a short dude and so I think that is playing a roll. I think Canales also has adjusted his offense to try to fit a QB that has limited physical attributes... But Bryce isn't great in the pocket. I think that's why canales runs simpler concepts too

Delhomme was awful. Nostalgia runs wild when it comes to Delhomme’s time here It really was a shame. In 03 and 05 we had championship caliber defenses. We had Davis/Foster. Then eventually had Williams/Stewart. Prime Steve Smith If we had a QB during those years we’d have won a SB

You're not wrong but most QBs also throw past the line of scrimmage more often.

YAC is how QBs accumulate passing yards.

Through listening to Canales i think this is what he wants. I've heard him say he wants 1/2 reads then check down or scramble. Plus that OT conversion to Tremble earlier he said something along the lines that he doesn't want him to get that far along his progressions. IMO hes basing his offense to much around analytics when Bryce does best when hes aloud to create and get out of the pocket

That's why I said almost nothing. Fitts panicked. DJ Johnson had the RAS measurables he wanted and was an Evero choice. I've said repeatedly Fitts couldn't read the flow of a draft and he didn't actually know talent, he knew RAS scores. When he felt like he needed a position, he grabbed the best metric player he could. It's how all his drafts look and why I think he was such a horrible GM and team builder. He simply didn't recognize guys that could play football.

If he breaks 3k, he's the greatest QB to ever play the game. If not, it's the oline, the WRs, the TEs, and Canales' fault

Houston Texans Qb CJ Stroud currently plays behind the worst oLine in the NFL according to PFF & his team is well still very good & in the playoffs New England Patriots Qb Drake Maye's current players at skill positions not all but primarily are as listed & his team is still very good & in the playoffs RB...Stevenson & Henderson / no 1k yard RB's on the Patriots WR ...Douglas, Diggs , & Boutte /no 1k yard receivers on the Patriots TE...Henry & Hooper so my question is how would have Bryce Young done if let's say he was the Qb in Houston or New England this season? better or worse ? & would those two teams still have been in the playoffs with Bryce Young as a their starting Qb ? ...just wondering ?

JFC he still hasn’t even passed for 3k. Delhomme did like what 3200 in 15.5 games his first year here.

I know he's thrown over that twice this year on paper but if you take away YAC in those games those are still pretty mediocre passing games

So I saw the Bears are the only team that’s never had a QB pass for at least 4000 yards in a season. Looks like Williams needs 270 to hit it. Got me thinking, will Bryce join that illustrious 3000 club after Saturdays game?
