Here is hoping for a speedy recovery Mr.Scot!
-
I'm not sure Renfrow is as off as you suggest. I mean, in theory, most guys aren't in game shape in camp. Renfrow also was out there just playing super savvy and smart. I did find it odd the announcers were praising some of this "blocking" when Renfrow was 100% making sure he had no part off it when the block wouldn't do anything except risk maybe a penalty on a play that already developed.

Thinking about you, Mr Scott! I hope all goes well and you recover quickly!

He's not wrong though. You talk like a politician on here. Leaving yourself just enough wiggle room to say you never fully counted Bryce out if you need to....But we can all see it. Just say you think he is a bust outright and you will have to type a lot less. Obfuscating your opinion behind QB3 competitions etc....

Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles? No clue. Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles. So there's that. The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine. There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV. I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle. I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine. Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency. I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s... I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease. Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease? Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky. Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive). Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce? Stop updating software? I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing. But I am still just a little concerned. Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.

Blacksheer's time was up when they drafted Etienne.

Renfrow isn't supposed to be playing a full game. Neither is AT. That was/is the AT problem. We have XL, Tmac, and Coker. Renfrow is supposed to be a roleplayer inserted into the slot for traditional slot work. All of the youngsters should run a nice % of there routes out of the slot. XL needs an increase for sure. The slot shouldn't be so dominated by AT (or if he leaves by Renfrow).

I will say this, I think having Renfrow in camp made this possible. If we had the same WR room without Renfrow I don't think the Panthers would be interested. You need that sure handed, will get open on 3rd down quickly guy. AT is that guy, Renfrow ( healthy ) is that guy.

The Lions just lost the two coaches which really made Sunday's go. Dan Campbell isn't an X's and O's kind of coach. That all fell on Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn. I would almost certainly expect a regression, maybe even to .500, for the Lions. -
You got proof?

Have you seen him play lately? He's not up to full game speed yet. DC even said as much. Its not a secret. -

Renfrow would be better served to be on the PUP list to start the season. Horns only shot to make the 53 now seems to be having AT traded and Renfrow cut or on PUP. -

How do you know he is not up to playing a full game? -
He’s a lot younger. Less wear and tear. If Thielen leaves, I think he’s a dark horse candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.

I doubt someone picks him up for their 53 as he has little to no tape to go on. Its possible of course but I can't see it. -
jk i wish you the best @Mr. Scot

Horn has definitely been and up and down story during camp and preseason. You make several valid points but, I am not 100% sure they are ready to give up on a player they drafted. I do believe that if we cut him someone will add him to their 53 man roster. If he does clear waivers, I hope we sign him to the practice squad. -
you never know i may be assigned to you im an RN i'll give you $30 for you to get a dose of dilaudid and ill "give it to you" wink wink

Thanks soo much @Icege for keeping us updated on everything

In my ideal scenario, you are working Tmac, XL, and Coker all through the slot at times. Not limiting it to Renfrow. Renfrow shouldn't take ATs role because neither need that volume of snaps. Easier for everyone to get open in the slot. Especially youngsters. Renfrow should just be the one running the stereotypical slot routes when needed. I think Horn is a next year player
-
The reality is that teams don't have 3 qb's because they are "developing" for the future. The only development going on is qb1 unless they are a 5 plus year vet. They bring in qbs in the offseason as a camp arm that may upgrade your backup or to replace the starter if there isn't one. If your team needs a starter the draft is the best way, not free agency.

On one hand, Renfrow being out for as long as he has makes me question whether or not he can take on a full season. AT is older, but might have more in the gas tank than Renfrow does currently. On the other, Jalen Coker and Jimmy Horn Jr can both rotate in as the slot for Renfrow. It's a nice position to be in where the Panthers maintain all of the leverage.
