They also didn't mind it last year during four nations, or when they beat the fins lol. Sour grapes, they had 3 pf the top four players in the world on the ice when we beat them. -
Mike Kaye: LB Devin Lloyd could be a realistic possibility
rebelrouser replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The tag for '26 is 28M. No way they tag him. He is projected to be worth around 60M for 3 years so they could still try to sign him on an extension for about that amount: JagsWire As someone else mentioned, the tag average factors in outside linebackers, aka, edge rushers, in the line backer formula. If they would distinguish between olb and ilb, the ilb would get a lot less. -
Should Dave Canalas be on the HOT seat??
SmokinwithWilly replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
He didn't actually make the playoffs. We had several opportunities to clinch on our own and crapped the bed. We had to wait for Atlanta to win to get us in. We had the tie breaker in a poo division that had 3 teams finish 8-9. If you go back and look at the games we played, we weren't a dominant offensive team under him as an OC. We beat the Jets 13-7 and barely beat the packers after they failed to convert multiple red zone trips. We relied heavily on converting 4th downs. DC was also extremely slow at recognizing trends in game and was really lacking with clock management. Was there progress this year? Yes. But most of it was on the defensive side of the ball. Our offense was stagnant with a couple of exceptions. Any improvement from Bryce was minimal and he kept insisting on XL over Coker, and even RB distribution instead of going with the hot hand. He may be building something, but I don't think we've seen enough to know what that is. It could go either direction. If he insists on being OC, then without a noticeable improvement, yes he needs to be on the hot seat like any OC would. The more jobs you take on the more you have to be judged on. I think he would have a longer leash if he hired a true OC and just focused in being HC. -
zero percent suprised Luke is a nice guy irl, have never heard anything differently from anyone that's met him. I have heard mixed reports on Smitty I know one guy on here got to know Deangelo Williams and J stew pretty well back in the day when they used to host events and he said they were nice iirc I can't imagine Jordan gross is a bad hang, he's hilarious

I don't think so, even if next year goes badly he's shown enough improvement thus far to keep plugging away. The only way I would look to fire him is if someone like McVay or Shannahan was available (which like 90% of other teams would want them too)
-
I think I would rather them package picks to bring in another rookie with the right attitude like Caleb wilson vs using them to acquire a big name. I'm not sure anyone would be willing to trade him for a few firsts though

Jeff King caught two of Jimmy Clausen's three touchdown passes. He deserves respect.

Sounds good then. See that’s what paying 60 mil to your QB will do for you. -

The new Jags' staff would like to re-sign Lloyd, they just can't afford him. That's the reality. Teams can't afford players that outplay their contracts every year. That's all this is. -

Should Dave Canalas be on the HOT seat??
Khyber53 replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one. I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here. -
The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.

Should Dave Canalas be on the HOT seat??
Panthero replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years. -
Yeah I think he's just talking continuity it's not really an endorsement. Also I would think CarolinaHuddle of all places would understand using "we" for the team you follow. I can't STAND when dorks do the "Oh so you play for them then? Hurr hurr"

Kon is a damn stud but it’s not any individual player’s team. All of the “big 3” are incredibly and equally important IMO. And LaMelo makes Kon way better (look at his shooting splits with LaMelo on the floor vs without. Also Moose and even Miles are important cogs. Honestly think we’re 1 piece away from being legit top contenders if the young guys continue to develop the next year or two. I trust this FO to be patient to find that piece within the next 2-3 years and not force anything. Plenty of time and even without adding anyone we have the pieces in place overall already to compete with any team.

We lost 2 very close and winnable games against top teams in the league while missing 3 critical players despite 2 of our top 3 players shooting unusually terribly. Still split the 4 games that Moose and Miles were suspended, winning the most important one vs the Hawks. This ain’t yo mama’s Hornets man. Hopefully Coby can go soon but even if not Moose and Miles are huge additions for our starting lineup and bench rotations. Schedule is pretty tough after these next 4 but I think we’ll take care of business the next 4 to get to .500 then finish slightly above .500 after that to get a 7 or 8 seed. Keep it rolling boys. Also Kon is having an insanely historic rookie season as a shooter. Like truly can’t believe my eyes watching this kid level of historic. Man what a fuging home run of a draft pick and exactly what this team needed to take that next step forward. He’s gonna shatter the rookie 3 point and franchise 3 point records. Has a real chance to be the 2nd best 3 point shooter ever or dare I say even get to Curry’s level (as a pure shooter, Curry obviously has way more to his game that has made him a GOAT).

I hear you but yeah like you say, above average. His numbers were good. You’d think it would be a no brainer. Anyhow… I guess the new staff is also fine with him walking? I hope if we sign him there isn’t some secret issue of his that led to him not being valued. -

Because they had a different staff that was not putting him into the best position to thrive, though he was still above average (unlike what some were suggesting during preseason), and that staff was fired. -
My son is 27, & I'm still waiting to experience it. I guess that I should be happy he doesn't have any out of wedlock, but...*sigh*

Having him and Trevon in the middle of the defense would be huge. Also, we are getting a massive edge upgrade to go with Nic... so the defense should be revamped. -
All things considered, going 2-2 without 3 huge pieces is good. It was a time when we'd lose all 4.
-
Missing 3 key pieces will do that.
