  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, he did. But what absolutely killed any chance of success is that our QB panicked and sailed the ball through the endzone uncatchable. That's why the focus is on that. Why do we need to do all these mental gymnastics to keep trying to come up with excuses to cover for the worst starting QB in the NFL over the past three years? What else do we kneed to see from him to admit he ain't it?
  3. He needed another year as DC to get the team a draft pick. Had they let him walk before this season the Panthers get nothing. The irony is that they will get nothing anyway as no team will hire him as a HC. I'm not sure he could get another DC job at this point.
  4. As much as I want to gnash my teeth and say that he's not going to make it, there's some wisdom in your observations. There was less to really blame on Bryce than we want to. He wasn't great, but he wasn't the reason we lost that game. Our o-line wasn't working well. Corbett couldn't make the snaps and was ass as a blocker. Our back-up LT wasn't prepared for the ferocious (really???) Jacksonville pass rush. We weren't getting much push from the line in the running game, once again lacking at center and LT. Our receivers could NOT get open to save themselves. And when they did make a catch, it was tackle and down. But our offense really didn't lose that game. Our defense did. Our defense may suck worse than it did last season and it's glaringly obvious that it has been poorly coached, poorly built and poorly used once it is out on the field. And Bryce, well, he doesn't play defense. But then again, not sure many of our players can.
  5. I hope they make him play us to top pick if thats what's in the cards
  6. I've yet to see you acknowledge that Nijman immediately gave up pressure inside and that TMac ran the wrong route. Why do you not believe that those incidents didn't have any effect on the play? It's strange to focus on an errant throw during a broken play without being realistic about what broke down when.
  7. I was at the game also and I saw things much differently. What I saw was a Smurf trying to play NFL QB and getting upset when he realized he couldn’t. His frustration permeated the entire team. We will never know what we have in the other areas of this team as long as BY is the QB. Time to move on….NOW!
  8. I was talking about this year after last year. They signed up for a year 3 after last year. No one guessed how bad he would be in 2024 but they did this year and still went with it.
  9. XL was a wasted pick, we all kinda knew it at the time but wanted to try to give a 23 year old rookie the benefit of the doubt. TMac you grab 10/10 times in the draft, doesn't matter. If there is a legit bonafide #1 WR you can get for 3 years cheap (and you don't already have one) you always do that. Either Bryce turns it around or our rookie QB next year has a young star WR.
  10. 50% of his passing yards were in the final 8 minutes of the 4th quarter.
  11. The fallacy in this is you're comparing Bryce's "what ifs" against others "actuals". You would need to give every other QB all the same breaks. Herbert probably had 650 yards and 5 TDs by these metrics
  12. Half of BY's yards came after we were down 2 scores. He is not a NFL QB. Why the f draft back to back receivers in the first round if all he is going to do is dump it off for 75 yards a half?
  13. If BY craps the bed against the Cards on Sunday it's over.
  14. I think it's only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down, again. The joyous coach routine is only going to go so far when your losing. Pep talks and encouragement doesn't make them a better team. Coaching may only be 10 to 20% of the success of a team but it is of major importance to get that right. Tepper has created a serious problem for the future of this team.
  15. Yep its extremely concerning either way. Either Canales is a cuck who won't drop the nice guy act behind the scenes and lets assistants dictate or Tepper meddled (probably what happened) and promised Evero control and that was part of Canales getting the offer.
  16. I think if everything continues to be mostly the fault of the Coach + surrounding talent (Offense and Defense) and not on Bryce; you got to clean house. I only think Tepper will do it if we are like 1-13 going into our bye week though.
  17. I don't think we really need to go that long. I'd rather see if the third QB on our roster could be a backup or something. Highly unlikely he'll bring us any wins. So let's send Bryce packing if things continue to stink this bad. We need a real QB to find out about Coker/XL. Tet seems set as a good to great WR. But I get what you're saying too. Id just rather not check out of another Panthers season at game 2.
  18. I'm not trying to blame him I'm just saying he probably regrets not being very aggressive about it
  19. It wouldn't have taken much to upgrade at the #2 spot. They took the jobs under those conditions, whatever they really are now. Poop rolls downhill and it's a messy process. That's an area you push to sneak 1 guy into the roster while admiting Dalton is washed and a bad setup in these conditions. Whats he going to do fire them, pay them regardless and probably improve their value by being proven right in the end?
  20. I think it would have to go true dumpster fire for us to clean house. Week One was pretty alarming. All the talk of how different and improved the team was only to come out and look like utter garbage is not going to win anyone over. I like that there's synergy between HC and GM, but there also has to be results. We're not seeing the results. The NFL is a result oriented business. Now, if the team plays a lot better in the coming weeks, great. But let's see it first. I think that Canales should start to see the hand moving towards the seat heater clearly.
  21. Canales is the head coach. He can dictate who to play. None of this consensus nonsense.
  22. I mean I agree with you but I don't think it's on Canales. We don't know what he asked for in the offseason and I haven't heard him say he didn't want competition at the QB spot. From what I can see from this franchise, it's Tepper who wants the QB coddled. Every year the starting QB is unchallenged.
  23. I'm fine with explaining away a few bad plays from a player because the opposing team makes a good play / playcall. Or even saying the real failure on a given play was not the QB but the wrong route etc. But man, it's Bryce's third year and I expected better than this. Just tired of the inconsistency within (and between) games. Everything has to be perfect for him to play consistently well.
