What identity is Canales trying to establish for this team?
jtm replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I heard part of his corny speech about “everything is about the ball” and knew we were cooked. -
Not really the same mistakes. We brought in Reich and Tepper picked his QB for him.
-
I can’t believe this many people don’t cut the tv off and go enjoy their day. On Canales, we’ve seen this play out many times and we all know what is going to happen. Will it change anything, nope, not with Tepper as the owner.

Perfect Way to Sum up how poo the Panthers Are.

I been saying that for years now. I sat down and compared the 1999-2017 Browns to our 2018-(can't remember the last time I did it) period and we were demonstrably worse early compared to their early era. I will take a look and post again. -
My Predictions: Evero likely in latter half of the 2025 season. Dave canned early in the 2026 season. Dan canned at the end of the 2026 season.
-
As he should We have Bryce on a rookie deal the next two years. This team lacks soooo much talent that until this organization fixes the roster there is literally zero point in drafting another QB. Dan and Dave both need to go before we draft another QB. Dan wanted Bryce. Dave simply isn’t a good coach. He wasn’t even a special coordinator. He was simply Dan’s buddy

NE figured out the offense. Double Tet and sit on the run. Bryce had nothing to give at thst point. Freaking NE finally shut it down, that's how bad it is. I expect to see more of that formula moving forward.

At the end of the season sure. A house cleaning is going to be earned by then. Remove Young from the equation and what have they done? They didn't bring in a younger QB behind Young. Kept guys like Moore and Scott who shouldn't even be on the team. Their biggest offensive signing is on IR. Refusing to play young guys when the starters are ass. 2 years in for DC and 3 for Morgan and there are so many misses everywhere. I have zero interest in more of this or the 'they earned a right to pick a QB'. Just flush this crap please.

He is going to lose the locker room, TMac already looked very frustrated after he was wide open down the sideline and once again Bryce throws it a mile over his head.

He's a gondola...

Can’t tell if you’re serious or seriously trolling. TB won a super bowl his second year I believe. Edit: yea just looked it up, Tom was 25-12 his first 3 years as a starter, 14-1 his first year as a full time starter with a Super Bowl. To mention BY in the same breath as TB is an insult to breathing

No we're a bad decision away from having kept our picks, kept Dj , and watching Drake at qb for the Panthers.

Tom Brady had a slow start and look how he turned out.

Evero is a laughingstock and even if Bryce started cooking at this point Canales' gameplan doesn't really give him or us a chance. Why is the short game so damn bland if that's 80% of the playbook? We get it, his arm is limited, but there has to be some sort of path to victory here. Like what are we even trying to do?

No coach is going to do anything with a QB that sucks at the forward pass. His arm strength is laughable. This is never going to work. -
If Bryce was 7'5" special teams wouldn't have give up 55.7yds a punt return.

Interesting since the Browns and Panthers both rely heavy on analytics. It ruined baseball and now has ruined 2 NFL franchises -
Just imagine tepper didnt buy the panthers and the other group who wanted the team did we would be in way better shape

As painful as it might be, you’ve got to ride it out with Canales (and to a lesser extent Bryce) this year. Every other option is worse. Bryce you can bench but only once you’re sure you’re moving on. Canales you have to give enough rope to hang himself as any talented prospective replacement candidate with options will be concerned about job security. That said, Canales has done nothing to earn next year. If things continue to go this way, the biggest bargaining chip you’ll have to entice a new coach is that you will get his guy with a high draft pick. If you’re considering keeping Canales another year, you have to weigh that against (once again) sticking a new coach with a QB he didn’t draft if Canales doesn’t pan out. That also means as CarolinaLivin mentions two different systems in two years for a new qb. That’s repeating the same mistakes.
-
Tell me what Canales has shown you to make you want another year with him. Convince me of why my next QB should get the Bryce treatment and have 2 HCs in two seasons.
-
Since he has owned the team hes not gotten one thin dime from me. Prior, I would attend 5,6 games a year, buy the food and beer...buy the merch etc.... no hair off his ass nor mine.

Jerry turned out to be a weirdo but at least the Panthers were his thing, his life. This is just some rich asshole's plaything after he made so much money he got bored and needed something else. Dude doesn't seem to care enough to make this a winner. It's sad but I agree with others that moving this team would be sort of a relief at this point. It's time to fire everyone honestly. First, Dan Morgan. Then everyone else, end of season. But I don't even know what kind of coaches would want to come here anyway. It's just all doom and gloom.
