I am optimistic that we might be on the verge of fielding a sustainable offense finally. The Bryce stats listed above are definitely encouraging. I don’t want to overly inflate this and disregard the previous 1 and a half seasons of production from Bryce and “cherry pick” stats but do hope the benching turns into an inflection point in his trajectory. Lots of excitement heading into this season.

Summary The 2024 Carolina defense posted a 44.9 grade last year, which was the worst in the NFL since 2020. They also had the worst receiving grade in the NFL despite a QB that emerged in the second half of last year. TMac is most likely WR1 in this class and is now WR1 in Carolina He's going to be incredibly helpful on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone. Highlights show just that: First highlight is Arizona vs. Utah. 4 verts vs. cover-0, TMac lined up alone on a go ball vs. press = we're launching it Second highlight shows his potential as the X. Runs a backside in-cut and the Tampa-2 MLB sells out on the corner route, leaving his back to TMac. Tough over the middle, explosive after the play. Sees TMac doing a lot of what Mike Evans was asked to do in Tampa. Third highlight shows how effective TMac is in the redzone and it's his one-handed catch vs. Travis Hunter. Brings "indefensible plays." Has size advantage that can beat guys, can jump, and has ridiculous hands. Will help Bryce in year 3 as it will allow him to continue playing "fearless" like he did after coming back from benching. Highlights show where TMac fits and re-emphasizes how he's going to make things easier on go balls, dig routes, and in the redzone: Fourth highlight shows Bryce vs. ATL when he hit AT vs. AJ Terrell down the sideline. Bryce has to hold the single deep safety during his drop to give Thielen a chance (who is only 4yds off of the LOS when Bryce is throwing it). Registers the big-time throw attacking vertically. Fifth highlight is vs. KC on a blitz where Bolton is coming downhill while Karlaftis is dropping back over the middle. Has an in-route that has outside leverage with Chris Jones applying immediate pressure. Layered it over Karlaftis' head for the completion. Sixth highlight is the fade route TD to David Moore vs. Zona. in the redzone. David Moore was the X on this play. Thought this was interesting, especially considering recent conversations about Bryce's intermediate game needing to be better:

I was still defending him last year, albeit with the caveit in the back of my mind that if it happens again I'd withdraw myself from being invested in this team. Its not defensible at this point.... Rods entire gimmick is high effort forececk cycle cycle take random low danger shot rinse repeat.... as soon as you play a team with the size and skill to break out of the canes high pressure you get sh*tcanned. He doesnt adapt EVER its always the same 0-12 ECF and all of the second round losses we've suffered look the same as those finals. Then you get rod on the podium looking completly befuddled with zero answers and just saying "we've got to play better I've got no idea what's going on"

Is that throwing them under bus or rest of team? He is saying those two were our best players and that can’t be the case if we are going to win. Anyway, haven’t managed to see a single minute of this series and seems like I’m lucky. Losing is one thing, losing in this way, by this margin is unacceptable. Heads have to roll. But they won’t

In that seeding Canes would be the 4th seed and would either face the Panthers or Canadians in round one. -
Panthers OLB Pat Jones II makes bold claim about team's defense

It's the time of year where fluff is in the air. Regardless I do appreciate his attitude and if we are to become a dominant level defense again we will certainly need more of this. -
It was nice to see us take them and KC to the wire. If we make a step forward as a team this season, we can look at those close losses and say that was really the start of the turnaround. Conversely, if we have similar results as last season, it's likely just going to fade into history.

More so than the stats it was against that killer defense in their own stadium, the same defense that made Mahomes look like a total JAG in the SB. The way Bryce handled adversity all game was simply phenomenal , the off script play in the end zone, scrambling out of a sack/safety to find XL deep was one of the best plays we have seen out of a Panthers QB on what should have been a game winning drive

He’s about to be 0-12 in the conference finals and we’ve been outscored 16-4 in this series after only losing 2 games the previous two rounds and looking really in control of the series. There’s major red flags here as to why he seems so overmatched once he gets to a certain level. There comes a point where “just getting there” isn’t good enough. We are at that point.

Listening to the post-game, and holy poo! Has Rod ever said, "this one's on me." When asked about composure, he threw Staal and Martinook under the bus. "Those 2 can't be your best players." Disregarding that he didnt answer the question, does he realize how that sounds to professional athletes? When asked how you prepare for game 4, "I'm not even thinking about that." Clearly, Rod.

Last year we had a really good roster. Are we supposed to be a team full of superstars? In which said superstars never fit his system? Its an oxymoron.
-
7th best odds with Necas (and to a much lesser extent, Drury). Unfortunately that trade made us worse because Mikko is a little bitch.
-
Honestly, never thought I would get here, but I'm with you.
-
We had the 7th best odds to win the cup going into the season. Caniac Nation has retconned this idea that we never had a chance this year. And, most of that has come from Rod himself. He has consistently shitted on his roster to anyone who would listen. I'm guessing TD gave him an ultimatum going into this year and Rod was trying to cover his ass for when his team collapsed again. Even if you believe it, you don't come out and say, "we got worse" in public for all your players to hear. And he kept doing it all year. Just the other week, "we don't have those sexy players, yet."

I'm hoping what I heard is true. Lmfao We will find out soon enough though because if true the rumors will run rampant after the Canes are eliminated. -
When will some of you realize it doesnt matter what the roster looks like. RBA has hit his ceiling. He is a terrible decision maker in the playoffs and the team always ends up looking moronic on their way out of the playoffs. We arent winning squat with him.
-
Yeah but if RBA is still coach, it wouldnt matter.
-
I'm just glad I didn't give up on them before they gave up on themselves.

The NHL used to seed the playoffs by 1-8 in the points rankings for each conference. Now they are seeded in a way where you play out of your division in the bracket. We play in the weakest division in the NHL. -
Yep. Wheels fell off with Burns and Orlov too. The team still managed to figure it out after the deadline and put together a good 2nd half. We just got our hopes up like you do. I don't think Rod is infallible or we should never fire him. I just don't think this year is a very good reason. I don't think anyone else behind the bench gets a better finish with this squad.

Well I don’t follow all the other teams, so I can’t argue on how much better they are.. I just know we the Canes did great and overcame so tough games until now.. as far as reseeding the NFL said no.. so should the NHL.. this isn’t the NBA
