I’ll just come right out and say what we’re all thinking: that music is horrible

Based on how we looked on defense without him, Chatty has to be up there on the list

Bryce’s new look. He looks like a grown up

I must admit…I did laughed out loud ... Then again, I admit to being shallow -
Sucks because he was a big part of why the Marty-Staal-Fast line was so elite defensively. Enjoy retirement Fast

Every time I see Sanders I think of Miles -
I know. My point is, IF he ever becomes a good player and shines on a widely viewed national stage, his press is going to go viral. Right now, he's just a regional cult hero based on personality alone.

Agreed. -
Agreed. Our fanbase, specifically the people who follow the team fairly closely, are more excited going into this season bc of the way we finished last year and the additions we made, but that hasn't filtered out beyond the fanbase for the most part. I think most outlets are going to have us finish 3rd in the division (some 2nd) with a legit chance to win the division but definitely seen as a dark horse. Which, objectively, I think is fair. So, definitely an improvement over last year, and we definitely are not being put in the same tier as teams like the Saints who are expected to bottom out. Still, for the most part, fans of other teams still see a poverty franchise with a meddlesome owner and a QB who's too small. I know bc I work in sales and talk to them everyday. So, I think your point is spot on. The team's performance on the field is the only thing that's going to change the narrative...

Bryce’s new look. He looks like a grown up
Seltzer replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's the only TE with actual receiving juice since Greg Olsen. We have become almost numb to the idea of drafting an actual TE that can be a difference maker as a franchise... Seriously, TE and S are probably the 2 positions where I feel like this franchise has historically overlooked for the most part. Sanders said he wants to be the next Olsen. Hope he does- having a dependable TE can make an offense so much more dynamic. -

Very possible. But, I think TMac and XL both have much higher ceilings than Coker. Will they get there is the question. -

That's the caveat that many of us are skimming over. And it's a big one. Most of that room is really young, and we've seen our share of early success in Carolina at the WR position that quickly faded into obscurity. -

He is my favorite pick from last draft. Cannot believe he made it to the 4rth -
If XL ever gets a post game interview in a playoff game, he's going to become a superstar.

I mean...the lyrics check out.

We're definitely not relevant again yet. Im hopeful for the first time in a long time but it's kinda weird how many fans are acting like we've arrived. There's promise but we still have to go out there and prove it on the field.

Former Panther kickers named Harrison

I don't pay attention to them once they leave here, so he may be dog poo. I just don't like Eddy's attitude lol Let's go ginger kickers! Big leg go boom~ -
I decided to get tickets to the last home game this year. Hopefully the team doesn't make me regret it.

On field product aside, it is pretty nice that Carolina and the players are relevant again since the Cam era. Hope we can show out the season and capitalize on the new eyes. Being in Austin it was surreal seeing Panther fans everywhere between 2013-2018.

I think the biggest thing that the Panthers have needed for awhile is wins. Winning fixes everything.

I'm excited to see what JT can do this year. He seems focused and ready to take the next step. Love seeing Coker working out with them this summer as well! -

Check your facts, pal. Mahomes started the last game of the regular season his rookie year as the Chiefs benched their starters due to playoff position being locked in. And in that one game he showed significantly more than Bryce has shown in his entire career as a starter. Which is what my post was alluding to. Regarding Cam: Going into 2015 he had 50/1 odds for MVP https://www.cincyjungle.com/2015/8/11/9130505/nfl-mvp-odds-released-for-2015-season But going into 2014 his odds were considerably higher as he was coming off a season where he was clearly a top 10 QB before his 2014 was hampered by injury, a bad team and a down year in terms of his play too. Going into 2014 he was 25/1, tied for 8th best MVP odds in the league. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2014-nfl-mvp-odds-peyton-manning-the-obvious-favorite/ Bryce's odds right now are about 100/1. Again, Bryce is absolutely nowhere near the conversation or even the same stratosphere as those guys and putting any amount of money on him to win MVP would just be throwing your money away. -
All-Time Panthers Rushing - Hubbard should leap CMC & Foster this year
t96 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I personally just don't see it on the field. He's had some nice plays, yeah, but overall my eye test says middle of the pick starter in the 15-17ish range. Which again, is completely fine, great for where he was drafted and the position is not a weakness for the team. But he's not a guy who draws significant attention from the D and helps open up the passing game. Not a factor at all as a receiver. He was 15th in scrimmage yards last year (2 WRs ahead) with high usage and an average at best yards/touch. He's running behind a very good OL lately too. Hopefully he continues to improve and proves me wrong and shows those flashes of elite play more consistently but I just don't see it yet. I like the Dowdle signing and think they will complement each other well. They are nowhere near Double Trouble. 1300+ scrimmage yards is honestly a pretty low benchmark these days and plenty of JAGs have hit it in recent years. Not saying these guys are JAGs (jury out on Dowdle) just that 1300 yards can easily be achieved by a JAG with high enough usage and in good offenses with good OLs.
