Former RB Mike Davis on Rhule and CMC
PappyMay replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
No wonder he wanted out. I really would have loved another 2-3years of CMC. Have him play RB for a year or 2 then move him to the slot. We dont get much Ring of Honor talent, but he could of been one. -

I remember when Rhule was first hired they said him and Tepper were going to "revolutionary" things in the NFL when it came to how players practiced and prepped -

Not to defend Rhule but these things were commonplace like 4 years before this. People complain about practices being limited and then dont like the coaches that do promote what was celebrated just a decade ago -

Wasn’t Rhule supposedly obsessed with player health? -
This plus if these idiots we have couldn't utilize Chinn (who ended up being the player everyone thought Simmons would be) they sure as heck cant use this guy whose never been anything.

Typical college coach bs. All of our current problems have been a butterfly effect of hiring that egostistical douchebag and giving him way too much power for way too long. -
I mean Prime SS89 is gonna weight those early Delhomme years to being our best weapons regardless, TMac is the first WR we've had who can potentially be that kind of player.

Apparently, Rams fans are pissed about him never getting a fair shot because he had a calf injury (cleared now) early in camp. -
I would be surprised if we pick up more than 3. I see 1 ILB, 1 Safety and maybe K. I just have a feeling Canales is not totally sold on Fitzgerald.

Basically Rhule had CMC doing full-speed, goal line drills in OTAs coming off injury. Pretty much explains why CMC wanted to be traded and further illustrates how stupid Rhule was as a coach. This actually makes me somewhat appreciate what Canales is doing as far as preserving and players’ health as much as possible.

What’s the excuse in season three with two consecutive first round WRs drafted and hundreds of millions invested on the offensive line? And two 1000 yard backs to hand off the ball to?

Link to article Seven players mentioned are... ILB Mark Robinson (PIT) - 2022 seventh round pick that was a core special teams player and was productive in the final preseason game vs. CAR (3 TKLs, 1 FF, 1 FR). Undersized at 5'11" 235 lbs. CB O'Donnell Fortune (NYG) - UDFA rookie out of South Carolina (and a Sumter native). 6'1", 185lbs frame fits the Panthers' preference for long and lanky CBs. Panthers' evaluators got a lot of time with him during the Shrine Bowl, his pro day, and the combine. CB Damarri Mathis (DEN) - 2022 fourth-round pick that played for Evero his rookie season at 5'11" 195lbs both inside and outside. Did well under Evero (16 games, 11 starts, 65 TKLs, 7 PBUs) but slid down the depth chart after he left. Started just seven of 27 games the last two seasons. DB Dean Clark (NYJ) - Fresno State UDFA with good size (6'1" 205lbs) and preseason production (5 TKLs, 1 INT, 2 PBUs) that can also play special teams. The Panthers have claimed a player from the Jets in each of the past two seasons (having also played the Jets both times in preseason though). OLB Brennan Jackson (LAR) - 2024 fifth-rounder that notched three sacks in the preseason. Played special teams and rotated in on defense that could potentially be an upgrade from DJ Johnson. DB Beau Brade (BAL) - 2024 UDFA that appeared in 11 games and played 70% of the special teams snaps. Has the size (6'0" 209lbs) that the team covets at safety. K Ben Sauls (PIT) - 24yrs old and went four-for-four against Carolina in preseason. Made 21 of 24 FGs during his final college season at Pitt.

what time do waiver requests get announced?
-
Its too early.
-
We're 8th in the pecking order? Basically, same order as the draft.
-
Whether a player is waived or released comes down to how much experience they have accrued in the NFL. Veteran players who have at least four accrued seasons are outright released. They instantly become a free agent and are free to sign with any team.

I'm never not amazed at how bad FItter was at his job lol
