Honestly, not sure. So I agree with OP that’s it all feels pretty empty. From a fan looking in, it’s a really bad look when everything Rhule says is immediately contradicted the following day. Hard to believe in somebody when they obviously don’t stand by their word. So I’d say the culture was optimistic, but is now confused/concerned. Which is not good.

But we are still a mid pack team in spite of a broken QB, pile of twigs for an O-line, and a high school offensive coordinator. There is a looong way to fall and I don’t think the fan base is ready for it.

Agreed. Fans are just pissed and are looking for heads to fall. The worst takes are the “wE ShOuld fOrcE Tepper to SELL!!!” My expectations for this season was .500 max honestly. The offensive play calling / execution has been the worst since the Lame duck Fox year. But it has NOT been worse. Not sure any team in history were as bad as that team offensively.

The hypocrisy of anyone pounding the table complaining about Rhule and co. taking an unnecessary risk on Darnold, yet want to draft a QB in the first round with this O-Line. It’s incredible. I’d take a guy like Minshew and try my best to beef up all three interior O-line spots. Erving has played fine when healthy and it’s a pipe dream to upgrade Tackle spots this off-season. Better to go for the things that’s has been killing us: the interior.

100%. The offense won’t be any good until the line gets addressed. I’d rather trade back and get a couple of interior d-line than draft a qb and set them up behind this garbage.

Using Kuechly as a gatekeeper for a MLB is absurd. Luke is one of the best ever. If you want to criticize Carter's play, then that's understandable. But it's big dumb to justify his suckiness by comparing him to a generational player.

We have Gilmore who is very comfortable with their schemes (offensive and defensive). Might be a big benefit.

You gotta remember that we have been spoiled with LBs so our threshold for labeling a guy a “starter” might be a tad unrealistic. He’s decent. Cheap, flies around, misses some tackles. Another offseason and he might improve quite a bit so I’m good with him.
