Darnold. He was the 3rd overall pick just 2 years ago and pretty much everybody is still decently high on him, from the huddle to the media, with most people saying the Jets aren’t really his fault. If you hear all those takes in the media, you’ll probably hear similar around NFL front offices. And I think the huddle is generally overly optimistic about minimizing what we would have to give up to acquire players or draft picks or what we can get in return for players/draft picks.

I doubt they let him go for less than a first.

Wowwww. He treated his job in the NFL like a 16 yr old dropout might treat a job at Burger King. What a waste.

Careful, don’t express too many differing opinions or the gestapo will lock this thread.

Well, I’m not 25 that’s for sure.

This third allegation is basically rape. Unfortunately, he’s pretty much untouchable until cleared. I of course question the credibility of someone who’s “uncomfortable” or “scared” to press actual criminal charges but perfectly willing to pile onto a civil suit.

I schedule my hair cuts on instagram. It’s actually way easier than calling or whatever else. You get a full view of the calendar and availability and pick your time. I do literally nothing else on Instagram. That’s just the direction things are moving.

Is cash tradeable in the NFL? -
Time to draft the next hurdle overhyped mid-late round FB/TE!

I’m sure he’ll go on the commissioners exempt list and not be allowed to play football until the whole legal process is resolved...right? -
Good riddance. He stayed too long just like a bad mole.

Trey Lance - best QB of this draft not named Lawrence

Yeah stats don’t matter to an extent, but being a 50% thrower against division 2 is pretty concerning imo. -
There’s a “Steve Smith” every few years or so, whether it’s Brandin Cooks, DJ Moore, this guy, etc. Truth is, Steve Smith was one of a kind.

What are the cap numbers? That’s the part that matters. Sorry if this info is already buried in this thread somewhere.

Expectations for Vernon Carey, Jr. in the 2nd Half of the Season
WUnderhill replied to Seltzer's topic in Charlotte Hornets
I was hoping with all the talk surrounding him trimming down to more of his high school size which made him one of the top prospects in the country, that we would take more of a look at him as a PF. But honestly, wherever he will be the best player he can be. -
Unfortunately, I don’t think he has much trade value at this point.

I’d trade the Martin twins for a cheese sandwich at this point just so Borrego doesn’t have the choice to start them or give them significant minutes. I’d even trade them for Alonzo Ball, the lesser known 4th Ball brother.

Report: 49ers called Panthers about Teddy Bridgewater
WUnderhill replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
You are kidding yourself if you think they were actually offering something for him and his contract to be a backup QB. They were more likely offering to take him off our hands if the Panthers gave them a 5th rd pick or something like that. -

Panthers will "pay any price" for Watson (via Sportsnaut via PFN)

I think you are either overvaluing our assets or undervaluing theirs. The difference in this years draft pick position alone would cost us quite a bit. And I don’t care what the report is about the Texans wanting a defensive player: young, recent, t5 pick QB prospects on rookie contracts hold a lot of value when talking about what a team gets back for trading a franchise QB. Not to mention both the Jets and Dolphins have other good young players of their own they could offer. I think if those teams are serious we would probably have to beat their offers by an extra 1st rd pick or so to match the value of their assets. -
I wouldn’t blame them, he just signed a contract a year ago and was happy to take all the signing bonus money, etc. But now to him it’s a trash organization that he wants nothing to do with. Tough spot to be in, if you cave then you tell other players they can do the same thing and you’ve already paid him a huge signing bonus.

Seems like an extremely long shot. The Jets and Dolphins can both offer much more enticing packages that include young QB prospects and higher draft picks. I just don’t see how we get him over those teams.
