  1. No I can believe it. Looking at what he did at LSU he's definitely a top 10 WR in school history. Iirc he was #1 ranked recruit coming out of highschool and even Jefferson admitted TMJ was the better player between the two. Has little to do with how they'll end up as pro's but the talent is there. Underutilized talent but thats not his fault. And he's only in his 2nd year but its entirely possible he has that 3rd year skill jump also. Even if he doesn't, he needs to play so we atleast know what we have at the position.
  2. Has to play with your mind to watch Jefferson, Chase, and Burrow all ball out while you struggle to even get an opportunity. And for all the stupidity we dealt with regarding the former head coach atleast I can say this: He kept TMJ on the 3rd team, which I'm assuming actually helped his chemistry with PJ. When asked who was most improved on the team this offseason McCaffrey answered TMJ. I refuse to believe this is a Dwayne Jarrett situation. I think he was in Rhule's doghouse for whatever reason. Right next to Bozeman, Higgins and Robinson.
  3. Offensive focus: Running Backs in the 2nd: Gibbs (I'd LOVE this as a pick) or Evans... maybe Tucker..Gibbs is just a playmaker. If they're waiting later on to shoot at rb: Achane (he's small but his acceleration is off the charts, think Tyreek Hill at rb and returns)...Chase Brown is another solid option WRs in the second: My pick: Jordan Addison... I'm guessing as the draft gets clearer he'll probably slip into the backend of the 1st. Wouldnt be mad at: Demus Jr from Maryland, Boutte from LSU or Njigba out of OSU. TE: There is a chance Mayer and All slip into the top of the 2nd...Sam LaPorta in 2nd would start immediately...if not I'd start looking in the third for either Georgia TE's. 2nd: LaPorta out of Iowa. Darnell Washington in the 3rd ...Massive man. Big redzone target ... Gilbert in the 4th... his off the field issues will probably cost him alot of $$ on draft night... I'd take that risk with a 4th or 5th. Borderline 1st round talent. Jaheim Bell: Plays how I always envisioned Ian Thomas playing. If we were to come out of the draft with: Stroud, Gibbs, Boutte/Jaxon Smith, and Gilbert or Bell...this offensive bs would be solved overnight with a creative OC. We still need a MLB and a complete edge defender opposite Burns but I'm guessing we'll FA target that.
  4. W3lp..Good news is.... in 2026 Arch Manning will be draft eligible. But my guess is if we had the #1 pick he'd stay in school another year.
  5. Overthinking it. And I'm not a fan of drafting non-SEC qbs but Stroud is the guy to me...(at this moment).. Besides skill, accuracy, Whoever ends up coaching is going to fall in love with his leadership ability.. Furthermore... with the first 4 picks we could solidify our entire Offense. AND I gotta say as a side note this the perfect draft to need a playmaker. Assuming we got that #1 pick...Realistically w/ luck we could leave the draft with Stroud/Young @ QB, Jahmyr Gibbs/Evans @ RB, Demus Jr/Addison @ WR and Jaheim Bell @ TE. Spend the rest of draft on defense. Free Agency focus should be on Edge, Middle Linebacker and db depth. We could bargain bin and find the right guys...i.e Luvu. We NEED playmakers on offense and tone setters on Defense..... but then again ...I'm not in the FO.. just my 2 cents. The board would probably have a melt down though if the day 1-2 draft was strictly offense. I've seen enough batted balls this season. But who the hell knows, Cam led that statistic the beginning of his MVP year. And while Baker was leading the catergory, Josh Allen was only a couple away from taking that designation.
  6. The Kelvin Benjamin effect... I doubt it this time but it's possible.
  7. Yea I kinda dont think we're tanking. Unless half the defense lands and stays on IR... This Tampa game will tell you all you need to know. McCaffrey being 75% of the offense last Sunday is starting to make a little more sense now. Ofcouse McAdoo couldnt be that stupid..They were showcasing his talent and current durability to suitors. Hell I recall one play early on he got absolutely drilled by Rapp and I had no doubt Foreman was subbing in. But nope...... we fed him more and he ended up breaking free and stiff arming Rapp the next play. I dont think the Rams even thought we'd be reckless enough to call another run play to our injury prone star rb directly after that collision. I honestly said to myself, somebody is trying to prove a point. IF my theory is actually true and that last game was indeed somewhat of a CMC showcase then I expect this week will be totally different. We'll be airing it out alot more with PJ. AND as silly as it may seem, we could still technically suprise a few teams. Stout D when rested... Oline starting to look really serviceable... WRs: We still have Moore, Shenault, Terrace Marshall, Shi Smith, Higgins, Saunders... enough to get the job done. RB: Foreman (filled in for Henry last year and did a suprising good job), Chubba (meh), Blackshear (who ironically reminds me of McCaffrey-lite in his movements which makes sense why we stole him from the Panthers North) QB: PJ (handcuffed 60 yard version) ... But PJ has shown he can win a game when given a competent play pool.. Eason(need a bigger sample size), Baker and Sam. It's still fair to say we're an QB (Go PJ minus the checkdowns), HC (who knows what Wilks can manage) and OC (get him an assistant) away from that #1 pick becoming a top 8-15 pick this season. Hell we played the last 2 seasons without McCaffrey and still didnt even sniff #1. Summary: It will be harder to maintain that #1 spot then alot of people realize. I'd pump the breaks on that type talk until the bye week. There is still alot of football left. Sidenote: McAdoo calls another game like last week then hell yeah we're tanking.
  8. I'll give you the summary from what I've witnessed so far. CMC leads the team followed by our slow ass TE. And that's one of the problems. We are attempting to use Ian Thomas like a premier receiving weapon. In hindsight, this should have been how we used Dan Arnold. BUT iirc we traded him and draft capital for a off man corner. Thats another story though. As 4 WR#2... If your trying to "replace" Robbie, your actually trying to replace speed. Obvious answer for me would be TMJ w/ his skillset. Keep Shi in the slot. Hell, make Shi the #1 and put DJ in the slot. He might actually get targeted then. Never thought I'd miss Joe Brady though...this week will probably cement the next guy fired...the OC
  9. Last I heard Daquan Jones was doing pretty good also.... If only they both played this way last year.. THEN again, we'd still only have 5 wins. But I gotta say having Brown and Burns together is something you actually build around. The 3rd year seems to b working out well for Derrick...Yetur not so much.
  10. Just a few years ago we were kinda dry at CB... And as soon as one leaves we get another which would have made a great top 10 pairing. Within the last decade we've had Gamble, Norman, Bradberry, Rasul, Gilmore, Horn. Seems like our LB tradition is turning into a DB tradition. I love what I've seen from Horn though... and to think he's only 7 games into his career here.
  11. 45 Yards!!!! That's how much the O put up if you isolate McCaffrey from the equation. 45. That's running and passing combined. Am I missing something? Was this the actual gameplan? And upon further research: PJ's threw for 60 yards as our starter. That's The Golden Calf of Bristol/Taysom Hill type nasty. The man literally subbed in for Mayfield last Sunday 4th qtr and threw for that exact same amount of yards. McAdoo is on borrowed time. DJ Moore: 7 yards Robbie Anderson: 0 Shi Smith: 0 Ian Thomas: 22 Chubba Hubbard: 1 PJ Waker.... 10/16 for 60 yards ( in 4 quarters) Eason: 3/5 for 59 yards( 2 drives ) I was convinced it was our OC until I saw Eason come in an literally put up 99% of the production PJ had with 1/8 the amount of time. When it rain it pours. Summary: This is pathetic..by all accounts.
  12. His effort is laughable .... that fake handoff stoodout in my mind today. I wrote in another thread wtf is going on with our WRs going half speed. To his credit both him and Robbie have a solid argument. There should never be a reason where Shi Smith and Ian Thomas touch the ball more than our #1 and #2. Even when Eason came in, the INT he threw was targeted for Shi iirc. DJ has 200 yards in 5 games. And will continue to underperform until somebody calls him out about it. Behind closed doors he's probably as pissed as Robbie was for being subbed out in the 4th. And whatever this is we're running ....it just cant be sustained on offense. When Cam was here everybody was complaining he doesn't throw the deep ball. Now we've had 3+ capable QBs who refuse to throw the deep ball. If we aren't planning to throw the damn ball past the LOS why the hell are we allocating a large portion of our cap to WRs. Never seen this before. Mcadoo has to be the reason... imo
  13. We sorta did the first 3 games and 2 games later... then went on an almost historic streak of awfulness. BUT... Rhule is gone...I want to see what they all have with a somewhat clean slate. Side note: WTH is going on with our WR's?. Everything looks half speed
  14. For an incoming coach losing McCaffrey would take us down a rung on the list of possible teams. But if he is traded, trade him to the AFC. Personally I wouldn't... unless ...AND it's a pipe dream we somehow fleeced a team like the 49ers for a second and 3rd in 2023 and a first and fourth/fifth in 2024. Probably never happen but Deebo + McCaffrey would really be a damn nightmare. Seems like a trade the Rams would make. We'd prob trade Anderson for a third if offered.... Chiefs Burns, Brown and DJ aren't going anywhere. Donte & Shaq ...perhaps.
  15. Lol, at this point Tae wouldn't have to do much to be an upgrade. I would have agreed 2 months ago without hesitation. That's not the case at the moment. He just looks lost. NOW maybe he'll show some flashes after this coaching change and I'm hoping so anyway because what I've seen this season hasn't been impressive to say the least. The man has a 75% catch rate in coverage, 105+ QB passer rating allowed, 16 targets thrown his way..he successfully defended 4. That would be more inline for Tae then CJ....one would think.
  16. CJ Saunders.... wasn't this guy running with the 1st team in training camp? How do you go from there to not even making the 53? Injuries?? Speaking of WR, I wouldn't be against Preston William's getting a couple redzone plays. Others I'd like to see at some point: Bozeman ofcourse Marquis Blair...maybe Kenny Robinson. (Just not a fan of Burris) Tae Hayes (Immediate upgrade over Henderson)
  17. Lol...this may not be a popular opinion but Mitchell is most definitely in my top 5 all time.. Panther SS. I watched a lot offensive players develop alligator arms in his short stint here. Penalty machine but a true tone setter. Idunno how he'd convert as a coach but I could easily imagine the tempo he'd use lol. Side note: The staff listed in the OP is actually realistic imo and also lightyears ahead of what our former head coach put together. It only gets worse when you realize he probably had almost every resource avialable at his disposal...smdh.. All we need is competence at this point. + "just an average" QB and OC and we're 3-1 at the worse.
  18. DB coach: I could see Walker being brought back due to familiarity but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Oliver Davis back there. If all else fails...create that man a position. And whatever happens with the staff in the future, I do hope we can retain Tabor. Again the ST is a bright spot for me. I'd even like to retain Wilks too, if he doesn't get the job. Also, I'm starting to love the idea of bringing Chud back for another swing at it. If Wilks could turn this thing around I'd be ecstatic.
  19. One of best return games I've seen Ginn left...I was asking a few people about #20. As a whole, this entire ST unit continues to be a bright spot
  20. It would have to be an Offensive player... as that's were our problem lies. If it was a defensive player to do it though... it would most likely be Shaq. Who it won't be via everything I've seen from there personality: Sam, Robbie, DJ, Moton, Elfien, Chubba, Ian, Tremble, Baker... etc Almost 90% of our attitude, atleast vocally is on Defense. Closest we have to filling that void on O: McCaffrey. Gotta say though, it would make for a heck of a story if it were DJ. But I just can't even fool myself into believing he'd do it. His demeanor is too nonchalant imo.. which is why I'd love for it to be him. I feel like Robbie has the passion to say it but nobody would take him serious enough. Smitty was/is just an entirely different beast. He used straight up fear to get that point across. The answer is not on the roster. Hell ...bring 89 back as a coach and let him do it again.
  21. Idunno, with this coaching staff it wouldn't suprise me if he finished the game with 8 catches, 159 yards and 2 TDs. IF he gets the chance. He can get in the game but who says he's getting the ball lol. Our #1 and #2 are hard pressed to get five receptions a game. If San Fran plays man to man, it's a wrap.
  22. Please tell me this a isn't a serious post!?!?!
  23. Idunno... that was my take until Shenault popped his head out for his 1st Panther game and almost put up 100 yards. Granted yac played a major part. Watching the game in person, the seperation was lacking. Watching on TV, I thought it was a sync issue. In person it points strongly at Mcadoo and Bake. ***and*** Honestly, Mayfield had most of my section questioning his accuracy. Make no mistake it took a blocked FG and our first defensive fumble recovery for a TD in almost 2 years to get this W. DJ, Robbie and Mccafrey PUT TOGETHER had under 25 yards receiving. Not only is that crazy to think about, it just not acceptable lol. If you knew beforehand that that would be their production as a whole before this game started noone on this board would have believed we'd leave this game as the winner BUT...hell I'll take it. I just want to see a complete team. I'm just hoping as the Oline gets better and the routes get more time to develop we'll look alot better. For as wide as McAdoo's playbook is rumored to be, our offense looked much better in preseason.
