Nothing guarantees a good QB But if you have a shot at getting a good QB you take it and live with the consequences lol. Over half this board wouldn't want Allen if he were in this years draft, rightfully so because none of us knew his intangibles, work ethic and desire to win and get better. Truth of the matter is with QB you just keep swinging until you get it right.

Penix is that dude imo. The question is can he put it all together. But if we're at 1, Stroud's gotta be the pick. He's not Fields or Haskins.
-
I still like Penix even with this "rough stretch", I think Stroud is a better prospect than him (wow Rags actually likes an OSU QB) and Young is the more exciting prospect, but I like him more atm than both Young and Levis. Plus like, with that name no WAY he doesn't get David Newton fired, right?

Favorite prospect last year and was so stoked when we got him. He's been as advertised and I think he'll be a captain of this team sooner rather than later. Dude's been nothing short of a pro here and on the field.

Don’t be surprised if Panthers beat Rams Sunday
Rags replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coached, sure. Otherwise they have all their money in a QB, WR, DT and CB. They're missing a lot of talent that helped them get to the SB last year, and yes "fug them picks" worked, but now they're missing young, cheap talent to replace that talent. On top of that, Stafford may be playing through an injury. This is purely in the bigger picture of the NFL and not jsut about or matchup, we're still gonna lose lmao. But if we had a competent offense and a good coach, I'd say we're better than them this season. Rams are trending down in the NFC. -
Is really any better than Darnold or Baker?
-
Willis and Corral were always media overhypes. Willis has potential but is the definition of a project, whereas Corral has a great release and solid short to intermediate accuracy, but his deep accuracy leaves a LOT to be desired and his durability is a real concern, though I do think if he's able to work out Corral's a late 2nd prospect. There's a reason these prospects fell.
-
Because First round QBs hit incredibly more often than QBs taken in the following rounds. This is proven. "But they bust more too!" no crap, as it is the most important position in football, prospects that show almost any kind of potential usually go in the first two rounds. We're not a playoff team, there's no reason not to tank and try the get the best available player.

You said Great, not Super Bowls. There's literally nothing that guarantees superbowls.
-
Fair, I tuned out before then and didn't see this play. That said I still think TMJ showing anything is good. It was never his play that was a problem, it was his health.
-
He's done more than Shi Smith has on any drive in one game. Like be critical, but people can be happy that our 2nd round WR showed something none of our other WRs have - the ability to create some separation against man.

I’m definitely aboard the Demeco Ryans for HC bandwagon
Rags replied to panthersgreenville's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like Ryans because we already have talent on that side of the ball and our offense is a mess. I'm not saying Dorsey'll burn out here/in the nf but we don't have an Allen/Diggs combo or anything close to it. Moore could maybe be our Davis but even then, there's far more room for poo to go wrong. Aren't there any promising OCs or he could poach off of the 49ers talented offensive staff or smth? -
If we're really having this discussion -- That's more on the advancement and availability of film technology now. Random twitter nobodies can figure out that pre snap you could tell if it was a run or pass by how his foot moves, I'm sure Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL player, can figure out things. Rhule is incompetent, McAdoo hasn't really schemed up anything Baker's comfortable with, but I don't think Rhule is the one person in NFL -- coach, player, otherwise -- who hasn't realized Baker Mayfield stares down WRs.
-
ur right i'm sure rhule never told Baker once to stop telegraphing his throws.
-
I really do think it's our personnel, namely our receiving core that hurts the play calling a lot. But that said there's enough talent here that we should be able to move the ball better than we have. Baker's blown chunks but the Derp hasn't helped him much either.

it is astonishing how a multi billon dollar company has such a terrible app and website in the year 2022.

Saints traded away their 1st round pick to the Eagles. I'm not saying this wasn't an ugly win, but internally the Saints feel they can compete.
-
Concerning with a physical DB like Horn as our #1, but I don't think he got flagged this pre season. But yeah, no, this is great. More control for the zebras. What every fan wants.
-
I mean he's a 5th round player, you can do better than Nixon sure but back of the roster depth that only comes in when a player is spelled or hurt? I don't think it's "incompetence" if he stuck on the roster, it's not like we haven't been trying to address the DE depth most of this offseason.
-
It does tho Nixion was their guy if they didn't find someone they liked more as their emergency rotational piece at End/UT. Then they signed Anderson, who is now our rotational piece and End/UT. Much more proven than our 2nd year 5th round guy.

Panthers trade for wide receiver Laviska Shenault
Rags replied to joemac's topic in Carolina Panthers
Dope. Great trade then. Shenault is likely to be better than any 6th/7th in those drafts, or at the very least is a better prospect than most. -
Not just mobility, it will also fug with how you throw. He can't plant well. That's also hurting him a lot.
