Not at all. Leftwich did not help himself this year at all and should take a step back to QB coach somewhere good like Brady if he wants a future try at OC again. It was a really bad year for his career.

I keep hoping for a slight improvement and then he thinks about trading a 1st for Payton. It's like he just wants to epically fug up and be like -

Can't forget or forgive that and more. I hope we hire Johnson before that meeting on Friday. Tepper keeps dancing with doing something unforgivable. -
I personally think it's a great idea for the interviewers to talk to mostly everyone. Networking and picking up anything that a candidate might say of value even if they are not a great fit now could be a good thing long-term. We could be looking for another coach in 2 years or 10 years so seeing who is who and what they do is a huge bonus. It sounds, just a guess, that we are vetting interviewed coaches options to qualify them. Some theories on having made a decision already but it looks like seeing what the more complete staff would look like vs hiring a new HC and then say 'what now'. Looks like they may have learned something from the failed process last time.

If the team left the state it would be dead in my eyes. I love the team but there are players, coaches and owners I won't do anything but cheer against regardless if they are employed here. Watson was one for me. Payton is another. Tepper has been not good but he hasn't hit Jerry Jones level yet. Guys like Wilks or Caldwell would probably cool me off and check me out for a while, no interest in watching much more known mediocrity. Not dead, just disengaged to protect my mental health.

Vic Fangio, Brian Daboll and a new approach to staff building
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Which goes with the old ways we have seen around here that I desperately want to leave in the past. Add in player management too. -
Vic Fangio, Brian Daboll and a new approach to staff building

I always thought coaching staffs filled out with only guys they had worked with before was a poor approach that led to stagnation. A HC shuld be able to know how to interview and know when they should hire outside of their coaching tree and current staff. -
The dream of having something you won't get stays alive a couple of more months. He is going top 3 and I don't want to see us do a Lance size deal. Oh well, it just raises the chances of one of the other 2 falling far enough to do a trade that is a lot more justifiable.

The time to sit was before the season started when he could have give the ultimatum of a new contract or trade. I completely get the protecting himself angle but he already messed up and it is not 'smart' but damage contol. The Ravens messed up by not trading him before the trade deadline or signing him so they also allowed this to happen to themselves. None of them are 'smart'. It looks like this will likely hurt his value, trade and contract, moving forward. Lose-lose which is a failure for everyone. I don't feel for any of them. Teams need to realize the days of cheap years like franchise tags without extensions or the 5th year option can cost a lot more than a new deal or trade and players need to learn when to sit, there are some good examples to use so it's mind-boggling to me why he did not do that if negotiations already hit the gaurenteed money wall before the season started ( Link ). I don't see any good here and I am just happy it's the Ravens and Jackson not us looking like a trainwreck.

Still waiting for a headcoach that is more than mediocre.

I'll root for the Boys to lose, always, and the Bucs to get a worse pick. That's a win to me.

Dude killed it without a stacked roster. Just flat out great coaching from everyone on that team. The multiyear turn around is a BS myth that lesser talented people sale to cover up for their limitations.

Daboll won a playoff game with the Giants wow

He is going to get some people fired and it looks like people with the Ravens know that. It's crazy to think trading away a franchise QB is a great thing but this is it. Injury prone, unwilling or still unable to play in the playoffs, wants a fully guaranteed top contract and hasn't had a great year since 2019. How many more red flags does anyone need here? If we trade for him we will be firing those people next.

Can't stay healthy so the rest doesn't really matter. I'd rather us just pass and take a swing on a guy more likely to be available. It's not like the 49ers have to get rid of him. Purdy replaces Jimmy G and they roll next year like this year to give Lance another chance to try and not bust. With his contract I don't see the rush to dump him unless they know he is unsalvageable or they get a ridiculous offer that shouldn't be coming.
-
CMC was built for the playoffs. A couple of weeks of heavy usage he can still take. Doesn't matter for us because qe never had a crew that used him correctly. Sure would be nice to get that crew now so we stop wasting offensive talent becaude of limited coaching.
-
Going now get's him there a lot sooner than waiting another year. It's football so waiting is the riskier bet anyway you look at it. The money is actually a huge deal since waiting another year won't raise his value but could lower it. In 2022 the first pick had a contract of $37.3 million and the 33rd pick had a contract of $9.3. Again, go when you are at the highest point to get the biggest 4 year deal. If the player is worth a big 2nd contract and they get a PB then the 5th year option is $30 mil (looking at Burrow)for him so again we are talking huge paydays here. Plus he gets another $2 mil bump for another PB.

IDK which side decided that. I was hoping someone still on Twitter would show that because I am also interested in that question.

Not being in the running for Harbaugh and Payton is just such a nice gift after the last couple of years. Ryans is kind of confusing to me. I didn't want a defensive guy but he is such a better coach than Wilks that if we were to end up hiring Wilks and not interviewing the much better candidate than it's a very bad sign going forward that there is a lot more to learn. That's like hiring Rivera over McD. It's offensive or bust looking at the candidate list post Ryans. Lol at Mayo and not Ryans. They need to talk to Ryans because that is the kind of DC you pay for with a black check and then again when he is getting HC interviews.
-
No idea why he would stay. I get hyping himself up, good move, but going back isn't going to help his draft stock and 4 million is a drop in the bucket if he can get a big 2nd NFL contract with even the rookie pay being well above that. If he was avoiding a team then just tell them 'no' like Eli did. Yeah he would get crapped on for it but going to a team that is a good fit and not a desperate loser mess is just good business IMO.

I have heard nothing bad about either Steichen or Johnson. 1. Steichen / Johnson 2. Kafka 3. Dorsey 4. Ryans 5. Reich The rest I just hope are not coaching here next year.
