Miles Sanders can never see the field again.
-
Well, we could have traded 1st and 2nd round picks for our coach.

I honestly won't miss Chinn if/when he's traded. Few players have ever been as overrated by the fan base as he is.

Albert Breer on Panthers trade deadline strategy
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Donte Jackson is an interesting inclusion on that list. Haven't heard that before. I wouldn't mind us getting out from under that contract, but I'd be surprised if anyone will give us much for him coming off a torn achilles. -
Would you be interested in Bill Belichick?
Jay Roosevelt replied to Teddy2SuperBowlHeartBreaks's topic in Carolina Panthers
No. More. Old. Ass. Men. This isn't Congress. -
And what kind of guard play has he had so far? Arguably the worst in the league.

No idea what the fug is happening here

Here's another one: the Panthers if they existed in the 1970s.

Let's play "I could be a better GM than Scott Fitterer"

Dan Orlovsky with a message to the Huddle

I think it's pretty clear it was directed at the fans and armchair GMs who are already calling him a bust. -

Or all of the above. -
Steve Smith put out a video recently discussing the Panthers and Bryce and mentioned the second INT and how the defender was able to make that play because Ian Thomas was supposed to be drawing the coverage, but because the defender didn't respect Ian's abilities as a receiver underneath he was able to drift back and make the play.

I'd be for it. Chinn is only playing 15-20 snaps a game; we clearly don't have a fit for him here and he's always been overrated anyway. Not a huge Jerry Jeudy fan, but he's probably a short-term upgrade over TMJ/Mingo with some upside to be more.

Oh, of course. Jacobs might be the best power runner in the league other than Derrick Henry.

Mecole Hardman - Potential Trade Target?
Jay Roosevelt replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
What's his contract like? -
I mean, it depends. Is he continuing to showing progress? Is his play steadily improving? If so, you give him time to continue developing. If he's not getting any better or getting worse, you probably want to look elsewhere at a certain point, but you still need to give him time. I don't think you can put a strict time table on it. He certainly needs the rest of this season and a good portion of next season as well, hopefully with more talent around him. Considering what we gave up to get him, we'd be crazy to give up on him after half a season or something, especially given the lack of talent around him right now.

Yeah, both have been pleasant surprises so far.

I wouldn't hate it, but I do wonder how much of the Dolphins success on offense is him vs. Mike McDaniel. That said, I thought the same thing when the Dolphins hired McDaniel from the 49ers, where Kyle Shanahan calls plays. Leave it to Tepper to finally hire an offensive HC only to get the one with the most conservative, vanilla approach to offense we've had since the John Fox era.

The Raiders might have an even worse run game than ours, somehow.

Terrace Marshall and Jeremy Chinn

I saw him rushing to catch Sam LaPorta on that TD reception. -
PFF grades vs Lions (Bryce in bottom 5 yet again)
Jay Roosevelt replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
But is he an inside linebacker? Because in our scheme he basically has to be if he's going to play linebacker. I don't think so; he's clearly a 4-3 outside linebacker, which means we don't really have a spot for him. This is why I'm not a fan of "tweener" athletes in the draft like him and Isaiah Simmons. Versatility is great if you've got one set position you can play well and can do other things from that position; otherwise you're just a guy who does a little bit of everything well enough but not anything at a high level. -

I'm a huge Bryce supporter, but I will admit I thought he'd be playing better than this early on. But I also thought this was his best game so far. PFF graded him a lot better against the Vikings, but I'll take the two picks if it means not handling him with kid gloves the way we did in his first few starts. -
