I miss me some Luke.

Always liked DJ and I wanted him to flourish into a true #1. However, he never appeared to be that true number one where he could take over games. He just went out there and did what was asked of him, and didn’t appear to have that drive to dominate. The only time, to me, where he actually showed some emotion was when he took his helmet off last season. Sure he was penalized for it, etc etc, but that’s what I was always wanting to see from DJ. Now, hearing that he has a chip on his shoulder for being traded, I’m sure that will only show up when we play the Bears next season.

Panthers showing interest in RB Jamaal Williams
Manna replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
damn, #inoneverydeal strikes again. I appreciate Fitt-losophy. -
1 year deal and he probably has a shot to play seeing as Purdy and Lance are recovering.

I hope this discussion between Young and Stroud isn’t like the one between Newton and Gabbert (lol). It might sound like Manning vs Leaf but I wouldn’t know because I was too young and did it follow football back then. Hopefully we come out with a Manning.

Confused Why Some Seem to Think We Got Fleeced
Manna replied to Daddy_Uncle's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our rookie QB won’t have any proven weapons (at this point), but at least he’ll be throwing behind a pretty solid line. I’ll take that over having crappy line and elite WRs -
So... Common Sense Says We're Drafting Stroud... Right????
Manna replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based on comments by the staff so far I'm feeling it's going to be Young...but I want Stroud. -
How can you predict the success of a college QB in the NFL?
Manna replied to d-dave's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it's important where the QB ends up as well. For the first time I feel we have a coaching staff (at least on paper) that can properly develop any rookie quarterback. -
Suleimagic.

That's the impression I got after viewing these pressers...that this coaching staff is smart as hell.
-
Reich said in his presser today that he built his staff with a plan in place to where if someone gets hired away, the replacement would then be ready to go. He essentially hired coordinators and their replacements already in order to preserve continuity. I don't know how often teams do that, but that's pretty smart to me.

NOPE.

I feel we finally have a coaching staff that can develop players and hopefully be able to make in game adjustments.

Maybe Wilks was offered a job but he declined?

1000%. (couldn't edit so I had to quote myself)

This staff is already having more success than Rhule's tenure here.

I believe it was a combination of things, much of which has already been shared on this thread. Ultimately I think it came down to Ron's usage of Cam. The offensive scheme required Cam to make up for all the deficiencies (poor play calls, long developing plays, poor o-line) by making a play with his arms. If the play wasn't there he was expected to make the play with his legs (#1 reason why I didn't want Wilks because he expected this of Sam as well, Ron 2.0). By they time they (Ron and company) realized that their philosophy was unhealthy, the damage had already been done to Cam.
-
From what I recall, Ron wanted to run a hybrid 4-3, 3-4 defense but that never really happened. It was basically 4-3 with a few sprinkles of 3-4, but Burns was always lined up as a 4-3 DE.

Legendary Panthers QB at the pro bowl
Manna replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Legendary because he got us Cam. Never had anything against Jimmy. He did his best and never said a word. -
He's more like Kaepernick.

Damn he really is like that ex who after getting dumped attempts to smear your image by going around yappin their mouth.
