Pick #39, don't hold your breath for a WR or TE
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree. Simply because of the current WR contracts. Adam Thielen is literally the only WR we have on contract in two years. Contracts will expire after this season for DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault, Preston Williams, Stephen Sullivan, CJ Sanders, and Derek Wright. Shi Smith and Terrace Marshall are expired the following season. We need a young WR to develop with a 4 year rookie contract. -
The measure may be flawed and has almost no face validity. But it has a hell of an impressive sample size.

Lathom lives here is Houston. Have actually run into him on occasion. He was nice enough to autograph some things for me.

Legal Tampering Period Opens Today
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Smithers's topic in Carolina Panthers
Happy F5 day Panther fans!! First and foremost, I am hoping to see Bradley Bozeman resigned before Noon. I would also like to see a WR brought in early. Someone along the lines of Darius Slayton or DJ Chark. Depth at RB and TE can be had late in the draft. There will likely be a lot of defensive players brought in to help adjust to the new scheme. I would expect FAs from Indy and Denver to be top targets as the coaching staff is highly familiar with these players. Players like DE Yannick Ngakoue, LB Bobby Okereke, and CB Ronald Darby. While the Panthers are mid-tier in terms of current cap space, look for these FAs to have back-loaded contracts as we have God-Tier Cap Space available next year. I fully expect us to be busier today than most people think. -
When the Panthers are finally able to pick at #9... All 4 top QBs (Young, Stroud, Levis, Anderson) will be gone All top D-Lineman (Carter, Anderson, Murphy) gone All top Defensive Backs (Branch, Witherspoon, Gonzalez)... That is right, also gone All Wr/TE/RB (Johnston, Flowers, Mayer, Robinson, Addison) gone! Our only option is to Ricky Williams this thing yall.

S2 Cognitive test points to NFL Success
Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D. replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
As someone who does neuropsychological testing for a living and assisted NFL players with the concussion settlement payouts, this sounds 1000X more useful than the crap they are using currently. -
Wow. Entire NFL season comes down to a BS ref call.

Stinks that we won't receive any compensation for this. Technically our defensive backs coach was poached to be a DC, but this does not qualify for compensation.

Could have been worse. Could have traded away multiple draft picks for Sean Peyton. Really curious how his staff is going to turn out.

Even the Ravens run game doesn't appear as prolific as it did this past season. It could very well be that they are missing Bozeman at center. Look what we were able to do in the run game with him starting for us against a very stout Buccaneers front.
