  1. I love Jaycee but Sauce is already the better corner. There were 2-4 games where he personally sealed the deal, played 1 on 1 vs the #1 WR and they tried to test him and it didn't work. Kid is out of this world. Jaycee is just behind him though.
  2. Honestly, I am on board with Richardson at #9 and keeping the picks. Get Darnold or Brissett in here and let him learn until its time to drop him in.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Like...he is getting 17 this year for sure.
  4. Look....if he is BPA at 9 I am not against it. There is always space for good linemen and you need bodies there anyways. Injuries always happen, seems especially tough for O-line. On top of that they can get hurt and the odds of returning to form are a lot harder due to sheer size. I don't think its a bad idea to have as much of a rotating factory for offensive linemen as you can and if the value of picking DE, WR at 9 isn't there and this guy is someone the team can see playing 10 years.....its not that crazy. Plus it keeps whatever QB you base this franchise around healthy and productive. As Panthers fans we should rejoice if they are not going to let us fall back into the dark ages of offensive line play again. The days when the QB was an open target all game. Only due to the fact that HE was a freak of nature did he even last as long as he did. It was scrubs all the way down. We had fuging DTs playing the position.......
  5. Nice, hopefully we get some good insights that can keep some interesting topics going around here.
  6. I'd rather resign Foreman. Him + Hubbard is a good combo at RB with Blackshear playing pretty well too in spots. Too many holes right now to get a RB this year unless is after the 5th round IMO. We need help at DE, Safety, WR, TE and obviously QB. I also think you have to take 1-2 offensive linemen a draft no matter what. These guys get injured a lot, need to be able to fill gaps.
  7. Do they have a run game coordinator yet? Or is that Duce?
  8. Interesting to me from the Athletic article : "He’s got enough multiplicity in the scheme, which I think is really important in this day and age. From one week to the next, if you’ve got a key player injured, you’ve gotta be able to have enough flexibility where you can put your best players on the field. He did a great job of that in Denver this year. We battled injuries and he still kept us right up there.Three-quarters of the way through the season, we were in the top five in about everything. We had some injuries (to defensive end Dre’Mont Jones and outside linebacker Randy Gregory, among others) there at the end (and) fell off just a little bit. We were very competitive and I credit Ejiro for that. There were times that we changed the scheme a lot in one week. So he had enough flexibility there that based on who he had available, he would utilize it." "I’ve always been intrigued by Burns as an outside rusher. This defense over the years, we’ve had great success with the outside people and a lot of production out of them. And the production he had last year (12 1/2 sacks and 22 quarterback hits, both career highs) speaks for itself. (Derrick) Brown was one of the top guys coming out in the draft. I think he’s a very talented guy, as well as (Jaycee) Horn from a coverage standpoint. So it’ll be fun going in and really taking a good look at the defensive personnel. I’ve always believed that you’ve got enough flexibility in your scheme that you try to feature your best players. I think Ejiro did a great job of that last year. Pat Surtain was one of the top two or three corners in the league. Playing to our strengths, I love it. We got some real deal talent on defense, lets take advantage.
  9. Correct, just in this hypothetical it wouldn't make much sense.
  10. I am really confused, do people think teams trade what they think is a franchise QB for the chance at another franchise QB? While the first one is on his rookie deal? The Bears wanting to trade him should throw big flags for people.
  11. If the McCown rumors are true....he has a history and tight connection with Darnold.
  12. Going to need a Vet. I would hope we take the cheaper of Brissett or Darnold, I am okay with either. I think an actual offensive coach will get something out of Sam, even if its just elevated manager, but I still think the kid can play.
  13. If I was to attempt to read the tea leaves....I would suspect that Wilks not moving on from Holcomb to bring in someone with the Fangio 2 shell scheme played a big role. If they had the in depth discussion as a committee we are lead to believe I think at some point they zeroed in on this scheme currently being the most successful in the NFL and most adept at stopping modern offenses.
  14. Why they have to do Moore like that lol? Outta nowhere. Thanks for posting this, very insightful. I like the Reich coming in with a real plan on player development. THAT is exciting. Outside of Campen I cannot remember the last time we felt like our staff could mold a young player all the way to potential.
  15. Shaq is probably going to stay. I'd imagine on a small extension like others have said. He is above average and at points can border on great. He is a/the leader on the defense and we are thin there anyways. I feel like you do what you can to keep him, don't start stripping good parts of our team.
  16. I am about half way through the AR video and I'm liking what I hear. So far it sounds like footwork is the biggest issue. If Reich can help him fix that I like what I see. Seems to move around in the pocket well, goes through some reads. Kinda of reminds me of Cam a little, hot and cold on the fundamentals but even off his back foot/toes his arm can get the ball there. On that note footwork and consistency in throwing platform seem to be a BIG deal, so if he can't get that fixed it is going to lead to a lot of frustration. Still got 10 minutes left.
  17. Lets go! Just need to fill out the defensive side. I assume the OC is locked up but just waiting for the right time to make it official.
  18. Can't wait to see Tysom Hill at QB over there.
  19. Corral has 2 things going for him : That crazy quick release. Its noticeable to everyone. He seems to have some of that "It" factor or attitude to stay competitive. Reich has something to work with but he can't put all his eggs in that basket.
  20. I know but I want Reich to yell " we're gonna punch em in the nuts!! " ( not that it seems like he ever would lol (
  21. Yeah I don't know what I was expecting.....maybe I was hoping for something a little different. Not that I'm not excited about the hire.
  22. It's kinda of funny. He said what the players need to go is 1 - Get better everyday 2- Compete and help each other 3 - Compete against the competition This is basically what Rhule was saying ( get 1% better everyday, we will compete compete compete ) but it's all about actually being able to realize it.
