Hes beat the bad teams and got smoked by the good ones. I'm definitely not sold yet. It just shows that we have an overall solid roster and we had a terrible coach before.

Terrible pi call. Lucky they got the pick so it didnt matter. They say you can put hand on hip just dont turn the receiver. Well the receiver never turned at all even on a pass thrown behind where his natural movement would have been to turn to the ball.

Lol yea did you hear all those boos? I actually felt kind of bad.

You've seen that injury just as much on grass when someone gets rolled up on from behind. All the studies have shown statistically there is basically no difference in the amount of injuries on turf vs grass. All that said I still prefer grass.

His leg got fell on by a lineman from behind. I'm not sure that you can blame that one on turf.

Quote ‘DJ needs to catch the balls when thrown to him’

Sounds like a lot of excuses. I'm not saying those things arent true. I'm saying you're a professional and you need to be responsible for yourself. He hasnt played well this season. -
Sure. I just didnt know we were making broad generalizations from game to game. There have been games where the offense looked ok and the defense looked terrible as well.
-
I'm not sure the defense is "snapping" they're middle of the pack to back of the pack in almost all statistical categories I think?

I would like to have that gb first right about now.

These arguments that it's best not to get a good pick dont make much sense to me. That's why you have a GM and a scouting department. At the first pick you have the option of any player. Sure some drafts the best qb doesnt end up going first but that's on the team making the pick. It is 100% best to have your option of any player regardless of teams missing in the past.

I agree whole heartedly. It never works in the playoffs and barely against the really good teams in general. Lamar Jackson is elite but his playoff numbers and statistics against upper third defenses are not good at all, but it gets on sports center for the flash.

They fall in love with the big runs. Personally I would prefer my qb have more passing yards than rush yard but to each their own. That is a joke btw. I'm aware he has more passing yards today, barely.

I thought that about the chin straps at first but the more I saw them the more I like the contrast and how the white popped. My least favorite part of them is actually the silver trim. They should do away with it entirely or make it white to add contrast as well.

Probability Analysis of the Burns and DJ decision
Tr3ach replied to Evil Hurney's topic in Carolina Panthers
Burns hasn't had a season with double digit sacks yet. I have no idea and I would have to look into it but I would assume there are pass rushing specialist defensive ends and olb that average >9 sacks a season available as free agents almost every season. -

His math is right but incomplete. Scoring anyone below probowl as a 0 for example, that would score DJ Moore as a 0 as well btw. Also you have to include a weight for salary. -

Just to make sure I say it again I definitely appreciate your post and the work you've done. It's on of the better posts weve had in a long time. I'm not sure how you could quantify an actual solid starter. I wouldnt say that's ygm or tmj yet. There is definitely a big gap between a ygm caliber player and a pro bowl player. -

Honestly the most surprising statistic to me in all of this is 44% of first rounders become pro bowlers. That's a lot higher than I would have expected off the top of my head. -

I agree it's hard to come up with a tangible value but there is still definitely value there. -

I appreciate all the work you put into this but there are some other statistics to weigh, such as they will be coming off rookie contracts soon. Also your scale weighs really good players that arent probowlers as 0. 4 solid players on rookie contracts, 3 of them first 5 years might have more value than 2 borderline probowlers on big deals. You're right statistically with your calculations but you've skewed it a little for your point. -
Mahomes wasnt considered a Mahomes coming into the draft.

Saying we should have taken 2 first rounders a a second and he is a specialized player right now isnt hate at all. Its just the truth

Ok then, say we get a qb and a good coach this year and we start competing. You can trade some of those extra draft picks for players then.
