  1. "(whatever it takes)"? I've heard a lot of people on this board use this phrase and it makes no sense. If you don't love Young or Stroud then this is just stupid. Someone (Colts) is going to get bent over trading up; hope it's not us.
  2. So we didn't want him or he didn't want us? Let's just hope he is enamored with a qb similar to Hurts in AR.
  3. What did he do his last year of college is the big question? This year's class is overrated and it's not very deep. Last year wasn't as good at the top but was deeper. I would think Corral would be between AR and Hendon Hooker if he played reasonably well.
  4. The article meant swapping Burns and our 9. That would give us our pick of qb's and some cap room too i would imagine.
  5. Still surprised that so many geniuses on this board are locked in with their opinion on Corral despite him playing two preseason games w/ the scrubs. We should probably just cut him now.
  6. I agree. He picked up Heupel's offense very quickly as a transfer and absolutely mastered it his second year. His long ball looks very accurate and he was very successful against great defenses. He also thinks he will be ready for fall camp (of course he would say that). I would be willing to bet he will be a better nfl qb than AR four years from now.
  7. I'm not against drafting a qb. I'm against expecting that qb to be able to start right away. Aside from Young and maybe Stroud, all these guys are going to need a lot of work; especially AR.
  8. Neither Levis nor AR will be ready to start in '23. We have numerous holes at dline, edge, te, wr, lb. We don't have the cap room to fill all of those with free agents. We have limited draft picks. And if we made the playoffs, which we didn't in spectacular fashion, we would have been beaten by Cowboys even worse than the Bucs were. Better rosters in the NFC? 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, Vikings, Giants, Seahawks, Lions, Packers, Commanders.
  9. The only shot we have at playoffs is because we play in the worst division in the NFL. I think we need to sign a bridge qb, pick AR at #9 (or Stroud but he won't fall that much), and then fill holes with the other picks. We need to quit trading picks for some player we think is going to get us over the top. We aren't anywhere near the top. By the time Corral or AR is ready to play, we will have a solid team built around them and then we can shoot for the stars. Could be as early as '24 but it's not happening in '23. Our ceiling in '23 is a first round drubbing.
  10. You mean how bad it SHOULD have gotten. Wilks screwed us in the draft with his mediocrity.
  11. That makes me feel better about AR but he was playing against the #36 defense vs. Levis against the 1st. UK oline did Levis no favors but UGA dline is stout.
  12. Not one of them is great. Young is a midget, Stroud is a product of the OSU system that never produces nfl qb's, Levis and AR look terrible. Are you seriously stating that a qb w/ a 50% completion rate is "great"?
  13. It really is a bad qb draft. Last year people said the qb draft was poor but at least it was deep. You really fall off a cliff after Young and Stroud and neither of them are top prospects either. If it weren't for so many teams looking for qb's, Levis and AR would be late first round early second guys.
  14. ...but he didn't look good in limited preseason games. How can he possibly succeed?
  15. Running the football on a regular basis increases the odds that a quarterback will get hurt. There is no guarantee than any player in football will not get hurt.
  16. Every team has a QB. I suppose he is saying go draft one of the hot names. Out of the four guys in the NFL Championship round: Burrow #1, Mahomes #10, Jalen Hurts #53, and Brock Purdy #262. If you see a Burrow (or a Lawrence or a Luck), go get him. If not, don't mortgage your future. So three of four we could have had w/ pick #9.
  17. Yep, everyone on here giving Tepper a pass, but his dumb ass signed Rhule to that contract so be a man and pay up. Tepper is a weasel that doesn't pay his bills (see the Rock Hill debacle).
  18. Mel Kiper says Justin Fields would be taken first overall if he came out today. Mel Kiper is an idiot. Justin Fields will not be a long term solution in Chicago. Pretty soon these running qb's will be viewed like rb's; short shelf life. This year we saw Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts (who is a physical specimen) all go down with significant injury. QB's runs can really open up your offense, but they come with a cost. I would take Stroud over Fields all day long but agree he is not worth trading up for.
  19. Did you not hear what his lawyer said? Class my ass.
  20. Would not be surprised to see him sue us. I did not get the job so racism. Thanks for the no. 9 pick.
  21. Agree. I'm thinking Reich may be less inclined to take Anthony Richardson than some of the other candidates. Hasn't he always had drop back passers rather than ROP types?
  22. I heard Tepper's girlfriend didn't like the shoes he wore to the interview. I just hope they remember Wilks is the reason we are screwed in this year's draft w/ nothing to show for it.
  23. We'll have to wait and see because Vegas doesn't have a qb, but Devonte Adams won't want to be part of a long term rookie qb project. Atlanta is in the same boat as we are but people think they won't take a qb and that we must? Don't understand the logic there.
  24. 1. Chicago could trade their pick to someone looking for a qb like Saints, Commanders, Jets, etc. 2. Houston draft qb 3. Arizona goes dline but they could always trade back 4. Colts draft qb; no way they roll with another vet 5. Seahwaks depends what happens with Gino 6. Detroit probably not but they could take a qb if they really like one 7. Raiders dumped their vet so maybe they want a qb 8. Atlanta is in the same boat as us; took one last year will they again? 9. The cupboard is bare. I see more scenarios where we don't get a top 3 qb than where one drops to us.
