I remember DJ in his rookie year looking far better than Funchess.. yeah he had some fumble issues but who cares, coach him up and let him take his lumps and he’d be good (as he is now). Every time he came in he made plays and didn’t get a real shot till Funchess had back issues. Pretty sure Burns didn’t start either his rookie year.. He came in mostly on obvious passing downs and always made plays/stood out. I’ve had a few occasions wondering why young players didn’t get the start or significantly more playing time when Rivera was here.

It’d be sick if he did.

Anybody said Brenton Bersin yet? Probably not a favorite but the guy didn’t do anything wrong he was solid when he played.

I mean, I’m on the younger side but I still don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this before from a QB.. As fans we’ve seen countless examples of power, finesse, unorthodox throwing positions, holding a football like a tennis ball over the goal line (and to get first downs like this video), Flipping over people, Jumping over people, outrunning Defensive backs on many occasions, stiff arming Defensive tackles in the backfield to stay alive, pancake blocks on defensive lineman, I could probably go on but I’ve said enough. Being that physical while also being targeted with shots to the head and obviously not protected like most QBs and it didn’t change his game (for better or for worse). Stop it.
