  1. It is weird how many teams came out immediately to say that they weren't interested. Do I think it's a conspiracy to deny Lamar his bag....not sure. For me as a Panthers fan and/or if I put my GM cap on: If you grab your QB via a trade/FA and commit cap to him, you then are forced to pretty much build via the draft, so the upside is that you have draft capital to do so with. If you grab your QB via the draft, you lose picks, so you build around the QB on a rookie deal with the money you have in FA/trades. In this situation, you are giving up on both ends.....for a recently injured mobile QB....that would cost 20% of your cap. You have to add 54 other players with 80% of the cap.....and you're out two first round picks. We are not a Lamar Jackson away from winning it all, so for these reasons......
  2. In looking at round two and beyond, I think TE is #1 on my list. I assume Kincaid, Mayer and Washington will be first rounders, so that next tier is where I'm looking. As others pointed out, one of Musgrave, LaPorta, Kraft or Kuntz. A guy like Schoonmaker also had a great combine. I have a draft crush on two WRs as well - Cedric Tillman and AT Perry. Don't think either make it to our 3rd (assuming we give up the SF 2nd in a trade-up for QB).
  3. If Malik Willis was 6'4" 240, started only 13 games in the SEC, his hype train would've been higher. An undersized QB from Liberty hits different than a physical specimen with limited tape at Florida. I think people knew AR would own the combine's metrics, but not at the level that he ended up producing. He also crushed interview and in-person meetings....this was probably not as expected.
  4. This was a no brainer. Next up.... Shaq + Eflein $$ = Bozeman + Foreman/Jamaal Williams $$
  5. Absolutely is a combo of fluids, carbs, not going to the bathroom and muscle. I think on any given gameday, he comes in around 195. Maybe by year two or three he can be a legit 200-204 playing weight. I think this is part of the reason he didn't throw/participate in drills.
  6. Mannnnnnnn, if Carr goes down with a substantial injury, the Saints are screwed. This is very on-brand for them, so not surprised in the least, and kudos to Fitts & Co. for driving the price up.
  7. Truthfully, our #39 pick this year is more important to me than the '25 FRP in a package to move up to 1. If we can send the SF 2nd rounder, I'm fine with '24 FRP + '25 FRP to move up for Stroud. Tampa is picking 19th overall with an 8-9 record. We should be at the very least, NFCS Champs and a 9-8 record next year. In 2025, one would assume better....that pick should be early-mid 20s. No guarantees with draft picks in this area....at least not like in the top-10 nor a franchise QB. We need a top-flight TE at 39. Send the two future firsts, #9 and #60. Draft Stroud. Take the best TE at 39 and figure the rest out in the third round and FA. Re-sign Boze & Foreman - sign Rapp/JJIII and find a DL.
  8. To be fair, AR does a helluva job avoiding sacks. Cam, even at the end of his career, still had a problem sliding properly on QB runs.
  9. Welp, Darnell Washington is an early twenties-late first rounder after this performance. Buh-bye Carolina.
  10. Would love Washington, Musgrave, Kincaid, Kraft, etc. .This staff values blocking in their TE and Washington just moved the sleds effortlessly. We'll have to give up a 2nd to get our QB1...not sure which guy will still be around. I really, really hope the SF 2nd is the pick that gets packaged and not #39. Stroud/AR + Washington would be NASTY.
  11. Before today, I thought if we got into the top-5, we would land one of these three. After today, we can't go any lower than AZ at 3 if we want to guarantee getting one of Stroud/Richardson/Young. Any of these three would set us up for the next decade plus.....choose your poison Reich.
  12. Maryland Terps in matte white would make more sense than for us, IMO. Matte black for Panthers.
  13. It will be interesting to see how they compare AR to Young and Stroud. Richardson is about to destroy the combine as many expect him to. AR has 13 starts vs. 25 from Young & Stroud. Also, the supporting cast of talent at OSU and 'Bama vs. Florida is tough to compare. HOF coach in Saben. Day is also a helluva coach. I had to google UF's coach to find out Napier's first year was in '22. If Richardson had one more year under his belt, I'm sure his stats, tape and Heismann canidacy would be on par with these other two.
  14. I'm sorry, does Bozeman live far away from CLT? I'm trying to draw the correlation between a guy, his wife and two dogs on a road trip = re-signing contract. Was there more to the story that hinted at this?
  15. Agreed about the value. Last year, I loved Breece Hall. Guys like that and later can be found for way cheaper. I think if we draft our QB, we bring back Foreman. If we sign Carr, I don't think we can. A RBBC with ??? + Chuba + Blackshear will be outstanding with this coaching staff. I also think they will know how to use Laviska in the backfield in that Cordarelle Patterson swiss army way.
  16. I think every GM in the league has Bijan in their top-5 overall players/talent. The article says if they don't go QB in R1, but doesn't say at 9. Fitts even eluded to trading back at his presser, so I could easily see where Carolina doesn't get a QB (for cost, their guy is gone, etc.) .... and drafting Robinson after a trade back. Especially if we sign Carr and have to choose between Boze and Foreman. Keep the OL intact and bring in a talent like Robinson in the teens. Done.
  17. I'll take that freaky quick burst and splits over a 40 time for an EDGE. Broad jump, vertical, 3-cone....how these guys use their speed/athleticism in space > 40 times,
  18. That would require Reich and Brown being comfortable with Tremble as a TE2 and handling the blocking. They prioritize that and would, IMO, prefer a balanced TE over a receiving TE that can't block.
  19. Gun to my head, I think the Panthers end up in one of three options.... Trade w/ SEA to move from 9 to 5 (cough up the SF 2nd + 4th + 6th) - take AR. Seems like our coaching hires were built for a player of this calibre and upside. Sign Brissett to a 2+1 deal. He can step in with knowledge of the system, win the NFCS and share his leadership/scheme understanding with Richardson in '23. Similar builds too 6'4" 225+ At some point in '24, AR takes over for Brissett, and we have a helluva backup vet in Brissett. Can void year 3 if need be. We sign Carr in FA. Reich thinks this is a 5-yr window Use draft capital to build around Carr. WR1 at 9 TE1 at 39 Defensive pieces at 60 & R3 Re-sign Boze + Foreman - Suleiman needs to earn his keep and manipulate the cap Kick young QB down the line...maybe '25. Draft Hooker by moving into the end of R1. WR1 at 9 TE1 in R2 I think Stroud and Young will cost too much and don't think we can outbit IND to get to 1. We "can" do it, I just don't think this coaching-GM braintrust is built to sacrifice what it would take. I think the coaching talent we have is primed for a guy like AR/Hooker/lesser QB and they can mold them into our system with talent surrounding them.
  20. Wow, bold move by his agent. A lot of spotlight on a kid projected to go first overall with a HUGE situation to navigate around.
  21. Wasn't White originally a SAF? Would prefer the tweet read "what Evero can do with Chinn". White is 6'2" 234. Chinn is 6'3" 220. Pass on White, spend the money elsewhere, move Chinn into this role.
  22. Zach Allen could be an under-the-radar target with big upside at 25 years old. Allen is miscast in Gannon's defense and played in an odd-front in AZ these past few years, IIRC. Having Watt as a mentor the past two years is a huge bonus too. Allen and Brown would be great fits as 5-tech in Evero's D. 100% onboard with the cheaper of JJ III or Rapp for safety in FA. Both have ties to our new coaching staff.
  23. On the BOA turf, dude will be out by game 4. I have always been a fan of Allen, but I can't see a guy like him or Woods here given their age. Campbell makes a bit of sense to see if he's finally turned a corner on the injury bug, but he too could feel the wrath of the turf monster. Ties to Reich and Parker are there too. Chark at 6'4" 205 lb WR that runs a 4.3 40 is nothing to sneeze at. Familiarity with Duce too. Pricetag might be too rich for our blood. Slayton could be a more affordable option. If we go draft, I'd also take a stab at Perry out of App St or maybe Tillman from Tennessee in the 2nd. I think Tillman is going to shine at the combine too.
  24. Probably had for a day 3 pick + maybe a day 2 in 2024. Same age as Levis and Hooker and has been watching one of the greats the past 3 years. Use our draft picks to surround him with talent on both sides. Bring back Foreman and Boze with this coaching staff. I'm here for it.
  25. Though I prefer to go younger and think our staff has "QB retread PTSD", I never did consider if Carr is in a similar situation to Stafford in Detroit. LAR gave up several draft picks to bring in an older vet on a shitty team. We wouldn't give any assets up and could bring him into a similar McVay/O'Connell/Brown situation. Plus, we get to keep our #9 + other draft picks not surrendered to move up. I'll trust Reich & Co. to make the right call.
