  1. I think its more because of where he was drafted than anything. He was a top five pick, and to some that means a lot. Personally, I wouldn't mind signing him and giving him a try, as long as the contract is cheap/not long term. But I have a feeling some qb needy team will pay him more than we should. Which is ironic since he is leaving a qb needy team.
  2. His salary and cap number last year was 7.2 million. Which puts him as the 28th highest paid linebacker for last year if memory serves. If we cut him next year, that will mean his average pay for the years he played under this contract will be around 10 million per year. Which places him in the 20's for linebackers, and outside the top 10 for inside linebackers. In the end, that is what impacts us the most. He will be an average linebacker making average money. Of course, that is if we cut him. That remains to be seen.
  3. I was talking about his overall contract, not one specific year. His guaranteed money is low after this year. In fact, according to overthecap.com, the cap savings are 21 million in 22/23 if we cut him after this season. And that may happen.
  4. Shaq is a big hit this year, but this is probably the worst year in terms of his pay. Overall, his contract was't that bad, and the savings if we cut him grow exponentially the next two years.
  5. I wasn't referring to just this season. Alabama usually has more talent than any team they face, regardless of the season. Its always more difficult to assess their ability to play in the NFL. Of course, because they get so much talent, they get more players in the NFL. Which is why I would never want to be an NFL scout.
  6. And Mac could have the same ability. But we don't really know. Playing for Bama, he probably didn't have to move around in the pocket much. They are much more talented than the majority of their opponents. That is why it is so difficult to predict how good these guys are going to be when they have play in the NFL with more talent parity.
  7. I don't think there was a big Cameo.
  8. I have to admit I didn't care for the first 2-3 episodes. I didn't like 50's/60's television when I was young, don't much care for it now. But it definitely got better as the show went along. They should have done a Mordo cameo.
  9. I think it usually hurts them because they don't go thru the conference wars, and aren't as battle tested as some teams. But I think if they make it to the final four, they will generate some interest with them being undefeated (assuming they still are).
  10. In some ways, this college bball season is more interesting than most. Kentucky and Duke are both not good, and UNC is only a little better. That shake up will make the tournament far more interesting.
  11. Whether I personally like or dislike Russel Wilson is irrelevant to me. He is a good qb, and would likely make them one of if not the favorite in the NFC south for the next 5-10 years. So I definitely don't want him to go to any division rival. In fact, I would prefer he go play in the AFC.
  12. Are you on the "Verge" of one? I will see myself out.
  13. But the question would be, do Rhule/Brady want to spend capital on a pass catching TE? We really don't know the answer to that at this point I think
  14. There isn't a soul alive who would not be badmouthed by someone on the huddle. Nature of the beast so to speak. And fwiw, the huddle is no different in that regard than most other social media sites.
  15. They went thru a stretch where they couldn't force a punt, but they were definitely better in the second half of the season than the first. Still not great, but definitely improved. The defense this year was significantly better than last year, although that is not saying much.
  16. To be honest, I would think talking all his cap hit/dead money would be enough for us. At least I would be ok with that.
  17. Regarding mileage, at least his knees got a break this year.
  18. Isn't part of the problem that Watson feels like Houston is not putting the team around him he needs to be a winner? So what would be the point of moving here if we trade our two best receivers for him?
  19. I don't think trying to get Watson means they have completely given up on Tua. I mean, maybe they have, but the reality is that Watson is established and elite, while Tua is still an unknown at this point.
  20. Perhaps, but in fairness, this is a rare situation. They are looking at giving up on a maybe to grab an established star qb. That opportunity doesn't happen often in the nfl.
  21. Haven't heard that, but it is good news. Johnson and Johnson now has a vaccine, so that will help as well.
  22. I saw an article last month that one of the issues shipping the Pfizer vaccine is a severe shortage of dry ice. Since the thing has to be kept super cold, dry ice is the most efficient way to ship, yet they can't get enough of it right now.
  23. Nice thing for your wife to do. But moving teachers doesn't solve the basic problem of supply and demand. I do think the issue will start to get better over the coming months though. My wife is a health care worker, and due to supply and some other issues, will not get her first shot until next week. Second will be in March.
  24. Counties don't have enough of the vaccine. The county I live in has had to reschedule several times to due to shortages or deliveries that didn't happen. Hopefully that will change in the near future. But we can't take vaccines away from others such as health care workers or those that are most vulnerable, to give it to teachers. So until there is enough vaccine, we are stuck.
