Mayock's top 100

I've said all along I would take Mack over Clowney. I see that mayock has Mack rated number one.

I'm surprised to see Adams/Robinson/Latimer so far back on the list. That's really confusing, based on what I've heard other "experts" say, including Gil Brandt who I really like.

I'm curious about the Clowney/Mack debate. I, like most in this area, have seen much more of JC than Mack. What is it that has Mack separating or is it that ppl have developed doubts about Clowneys work ethic and drive?

There are a couple head scratchers on here.  Dontae Johnson is not on anyone's top 100.  Surprised to see Brandon Thomas there as well.

Mack is the anti-Clowney. He's not about flash, he's not about numbers, he's about rushing the passer. He's very, very similar to what Von miller was coming out of the draft, but with no character concerns.

I like Mayock and he's terrific at his job but he consistently outthinks himself.

Every year he has players rated awkwardly and I don't think he does it to be different ala Cowherd or some other ESPN hackjob, I just think he gets caught up in hype prior to evaluating and grades on that curve.

Bridgewater not being in his tops 5 QBs is just silly, and as always, there are other oddities.

Yes, Clowney's more of a boom or bust pick. He's a once in a life time athlete, but there are also concerns about his effort. Mack isn't quite the athletic superstar, but he's still very athletic, and is more well-rounded prospect. He hasn't done anything to make you question his worth (except for maybe playing at a weaker conference).
