Weed isnt considered a controlled substance I dont think pretty sure it was much worse than a little pot

i could be wrong, but I do believe the NFL considers weed a controlled substance, but the Feds definitely do.

Apparently he was arrested for synthetic pot.  Link

need to be careful with that sh*t

http://time.com/89835/synthetic-marijuana-overdoses-k2/

In less than a week, more than 100 people in Texas overdosed on a drug that is not technically banned by federal or state laws and has been designed to give users highs similar to marijuana

Almost 120 people in a five-day period in Texas overdosed on a synthetic drug that mimics the effects of marijuana.

I guess he's wishing he just had the real stuff now.

Despite his recent trouble he was a beast on the field last season. In no way comparable to the affect of Newton but still a great player on the field.

He wasn't a "beast." He was a good player at best. Not a bust, but not worthy of the third overall pick, let alone any first round pick.

I'm not defending him but I'd like to know which drug he's charged with. If it's marijuana I have a hard time calling the guy a thug because most of the NFL and a large % of American adults have smoked Marijuana. It's been legalized in two states.

But yeah if it's a harder drug that is a big red flag. He is a terrific player that butted heads with a coach that didn't draft him. I don't remember any character concerns before the draft. Maybe the team had some information that was not public when they set their board.

He was absolutely worthy of the 3rd pick. He had 7.5 sacks and 71 tackles last year as a DT. He made the pro bowl as an alternate.

Ok so it was synthetic pot. I'll concede he was dumb to do it but I don't feel like it makes him a bad guy. Marijuana usage is way too accepted and even celebrated in our culture to shun someone for usage during a hiatus from work. But yeah he could have been smarter about it.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
