It's not a high light film, it's a scouting film.

The only thing that worries me about Ealy is that he stands up way to much. It''d be one thing if he was as strong as CJ, but to me he's much more of a speed rusher due to his quick acceleration of the line. Either he needs to gain strength or change his technique to where he isn't as upright.

I also think he needs to work on going 100% at all times. Against Matthews it looked like he was giving it his all, but at other times he looks like he's taking plays off. Being that his reps will be limited to mostly third down rush packages, I doubt he takes any plays off.

In not worried about the technique issues, or the lack of consistency like mayock pointed out. I would be concerned if he were drafted to start, but remember he's going to be rotating in with CJ and Hardy this season. He even will probably line up next to them and while the rest of the DLine is creating matchup problems, he will shine through. Also remember how the defense suffered in the absence of CJ. Kony provides instant depth and takes pressure off the two starters we already have to generate most of the edge rush on this defense.

I shouldn't have said worried but more or less concerned.

He needs some work but after hearing from him, I have no doubt he'll put in the time. It's also going to help with Hardy and CJ pushing him.

He can be a good player but he needs an identity. Either get stronger (like Hardy did in the offseason) so you can be a dual threat defensive end or change your technique and use your acceleration to be a speed rusher.

    • Nobody on the huddle is saying we have an elite group offensively across the board. They aren't great. They're young. If you are expecting someone to agree with your position of blaming everyone around Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career you are going to be left holding the bag save for a handful of people who act like they are paid to defend his honor. Bryce Young is not a guy who has had to claw and fight his way into starting jobs in football. He's had the best to work with and been gifted roles since he was a teenager. The Panthers have one of the youngest rosters in the league and with us needing an infusion of young defensive talent in the upcoming draft we're only going to get younger. We need a QB who possesses the ability to elevate those around him. If you can't agree with me on that then there's nothing further to discuss.
    • All Bryce and the Panthers had to do was split with the Saints and a rookie QB. The bar was so low. They even had a whole bye week to prepare. The time for singing kumbaya was before that game. Anyone still talking about Bryce earning a second contract 43 games into his career is living a fantasy. He might get one from the Tepper owned Panthers but he's damn sure not earned it.
