Fantasy (in my mind) pre-season trade

Deangelo Williams to the Titans for Michael Roos straight-up.

The Titans cut Chris Johnson and drafted U. of Washinton RB Bishop Sankey in the draft. They also used their 1st overall choice on U. of Michigan OT Taylor Lewan, giving them a wealth of quality bodies on their OL.

D-Lo, because he has mostly been used in a two-headed running attack, still has good tread on his tires for his age. Considering the state of the Titans QBs (Jake Locker, Charlie Whitehurst, rookie Zach Mettenberger) the Titans are going to be running the ball... a LOT. The Titan running backs are (currently) rookie Sankey, Shonn Greene, Leon Washington, and a list of nobodies. A RB like Williams would be *valuable* to such a team (especially one who has a contract only obligating them for a year).

Roos has one year left on his contract at $6,625,000.

D-Lo has 4 years left, but he can be cut before the 2015 season at no cost to whatever team he plays for. His 2014 cap number is similar to, but slightly less than, Roos' (at $6,000,000).

D-Lo could return to the state where he played college, provide a veteran presence in the Titan backfield, and tote the rock along with their new rookie, Sankey. And Roos would immediately slot into whichever starting tackle spot the Panthers prefer.

Somebody call Gett-Monster and lets force Tennessee to do this.

Do keep in mind that we can't count on Stewart being healthy 16 games, and I can't see anyone having an immediate impact as RB behind him...

Tolbert would do just fine..  then let the young bucks fight it out for backup...

I would make this trade in a heartbeat (but the Titans wouldn't).  LT >>>>>>> RB.  Tolbert could be our primary RB in a pinch.  Hell, I remember years ago when Brad Hoover ran for 100+ yards for us when filling in at RB in a pinch.

None of you realize that they are likely going to cut Roos if they can't trade him.. They've got Lewan and Oher and need some cap room. Why they would take on DeAngelo's contract, I don't know... But we can get him as a FA.
