OLine, Cam holding the ball too long, or bad play calling?

Receiving TE? We have one of the best already....and Ed Dickson has been underwhelming for years now. 500 yards the past 29 games? lol

Sure handed ness is awesome, but I dont think dropping balls was our receivers biggest problems last year...as noted by a large number of people separation, etc. Crotchety, Avant, both seem old and slow.....

the 6th round running back pass protector on a team that already has 5 rbs lol How can you justify putting him on the field over a healthy Tolbert, Williams, or Stewart (I know). 3rd down duties Tolbert is the man.

It's not just the number of drops it was the situation the drops occurred in.

Most were unbelievably game changing when all was said and done. These vets don't make those kind of drops, and I hope that continues.

I agree about Dickson he is an unknown at this point

I don't think you can blame it all on one yet. All of them were factors if you asked me. Oline blocking wasn't that great at times but they can only block for so long. I have seen times where Cam has hesitated. I believe he will improve no doubt but there are times were he needed to make quick decisions which led to a drive killing sack. With that being said, his wrs were having a hard time getting seperation as well. I remember countless times how the annoucers would show the cameras on all the wrs and every last one of them is covered but when that happens Cam has to throw it away or take off running. Each unit could literally share the ball but I think we will get better at it. I want to see a lot of quick routes/slants being dialed up during the games.

think they are changing offense to dink and dunk .I remember the 2007 pats. when brady couldn't beat you deep he dinked and donk all day.(that's how they beat the jags in that playoff game because they(jags) refused to get beat by randy deep)

I expect a lot of quick drop backs, fast developing patterns, occasional deep pass and a strong running game.

to be honest it seems like that what the panthers already do anyways.

About TE--Dickson is a receiving TE.  A #2 receiving TE. I never said he would be a superstar.  Did we have a #2 receiving TE last year?

About WR--Sure handedness is awesome.  Has it occured to anyone that our WRs dropped nearly 2 balls per game when they caught only 10 balls per game? If you compare our number or drops to the rest of the league, are you considering attempts?

About RB--How long do you think Williams will be here?  How old is he?  How many games has Stewart played in the past 2 seasons?  We are not as loaded at RB as you think, and nobody said day one of 2014.  RBs have a short shelf life.

lol a receiving tight end who's not very good at receiving.....

He played 658 snaps, was thrown at 43 times, and caught 25 passes (58%), 5 drops....1 of them for a touch down.  He's no shockey, he's barely even a justifiable pick up....based on "potential"

There were 20 other teams with WR's who dropped more balls than us.  We were at the top 1/3rd, of course that can get better, and I would love for it to.  But we really played th entire season without a true #1 or a true #2.     It is the cumulative number of drops Cam Newton experienced.  And attempts were already mentioned in initial posts if I'm not mistaken, but if not then I can list them.  473 throwing attempts.

And RB you're correct, but how often does a 6th round draft pick last 3 to 4 years down the road?

Cam is still learning. He will get better as time goes on with recognitions both before and after the snap.

Almost all young QBs go through this phase of holding the ball too long or getting fooled. Can just has the strength and agility to compensate right now. But he will get better and better

Here's an interesting stat, Steve Smith caught 62% of passes thrown his way, and racked up 15 missed tackles after the catch.  those 15 missed tackles have him ranked as top 5 in that category.   Yet he only gained 2.9 Y/after catch per reception, which definitely are his worse of all time.  Definitely could no longer beat double teams, or create significant separation, yet when he got ball in space was still able to make moves.  Smith was meant for the slot a long time ago, and it's a damn shame we never capitalized on this years ago.

Lafell caught 59% and Ginn 58%, respectively.  LaFell lead all of our receivers with 8 drops.  Smith 5.

The "Git rid of the dag gum ball Cam!" poo is one of the most annoying things people post in ever gameday thread every time he gets sacked.

1. Our WRs could not fuging get open to save their lives. 2. He had no time. 3. He's a scrambling QB and if you want a dude who throws it away every time he's under pressure, we could be starting Clausen.

Cam's play style is going to lead to a few extra sacks. It's worth it.

thow away > taking a sac

It's all about decision making at a very fast pace.  Sometimes it's besat to scramble, sometimes it's not, I'm just saying that Cam hopefully will develop better decision making, he's gonna need it with this swiss cheese line.

How many of those sacks, hits and hurries  came against the Bills?         Mario Williams seemed to live in our backfield that game.      Since Gross was solid last season, I'm assuming it was Bell that Mario pushed around all game.

Escape pressure by scrambling > throw away. Even if it means occasionally getting tackled in the process.
