The Panthers logo, revisited: It's NOT the shape of Carolina

I found this mildly amusing piece on the Panthers logo.  At the end of the day it probably doesn't matter, but David Rappoccio has a valid point about the designers that designed it. They could have---and probably should have---done a better job.  A simple change in angle makes a world of difference. That's why he is calling "Bullshit!", to the notion that it is in the shape of the Carolinas.

Seeing is believing, right?  It looks kind of fuged when you view the overlay.

I'm guessing it's kind of a slow time at work for you, isn't it?

I know that most people probably don't give a poo, but Rappoccio is right. How in the hell can designers get paid millions of dollars come up with a design that is supposed to be in the shape of the Carolinas that is not the shape of the Carolinas? Just like the writer said, perhaps they didn't. perhaps it was something that someone came up with after the fact, and someone just went with it.

And now, all of us fans have really been duped into going with it as well.

In my opinion they need to "fix" it, and have it more closely resemble the two states so that it really does give the logo more meaning. Until then, I am inclined to think somewhat like Rappoccio.

I said that I think somewhat like him because at the end of the day, "angry animal head" or not, I still think that it's a cool logo. Its just that it would be cooler if it was more closely shaped like the states that it is supposed to represent---in part, the place where I was born and have lived for most of my life.

And another thing... everybody know real black panthers don't have any blue hair. Get the fug out of here with that poo.

And when it comes to geographical accuracy, where are the rivers? Where the fug is the Roanoke? The Haw? The Cape Fear? The Tar and the Catawba? You can't make whiskers out of that poo?

No?

Then fug you, Mr. Incompetent Graphic Artist... FUG YOU.

I went back and read this guy's full article.  Not only did he say something about projections, which I invite him to come "slap" me, he ended up turning the two states to further his argument.

The states in this photo

are tilted more than this photo

I used to have the gif of the states morphing to the old logo. I can't find it now but I may have it on my home laptop. The logo never had the state shape even close. The gif was just something you would see every once in a while in team vids or maybe elsewhere.
