Nate Chandler Future Left Tackle?

Jeremy Igo

Maybe Chandler at LT and the big Canadian at Right? Still a long way to go until spots are settled and we'll see what the coaches think is the best combo from all of our tackles.

I doubt the canadian is an option at OT this season. Most people have said he is still pretty raw. Maybe next season more likely.

He has a 1000% better attitude in his media quotes than Bell.

this reminded me..  somehow caught Hurney on the radio yesterday and he was speaking on Bell..   basically was talking about how Bell needs to learn he has the ability to succeed and has a tendency to be a perfectionist which affects him when things go bad.  Also mentioned how the death of his brother had an affect on this outlook.  That he tends to blame himself and questions whether he deserves success when things go bad.

I have heard that Bell is trying to lose weight. If so, maybe that will help as well. I mean, if LT is his best position. We pretty much need to go in that direction. As long as he can beat out Chandler.

I know we want the best guy at LT. Cam's blind side is mucho importante. Part of me wants Bell to win, but Chandler is an intriguing candidate. So I kinda want him over there. I would prefer Chandler and his athleticism on the left side, and Bell just doesn't show that.

But that just puts Bell back at RT. Damm, I am just confusing myself now.

I am getting dizzy.  This is exactly how I feel.  I am all for giving Bell the shot on the left and see if being left handed pays off.  However, I am not too excited about him going back to the right.   Chandler seems like he could really take the LT spot.  We have other tackles on this team?  Any of them take RT and let Bell be Chandlers back-up?

Yup, I wish there was a way that if Bell doesn't win the LT spot, he winds up being depth.

I just don't see that happening. He will be on the line somewhere. And to be honest, that does kinda scare me. Just a little, but still.

Wow.

I think that's a little too personal to be saying on the radio. We know the story already but damn

As of right now, Byron Bell is the coaching staff's favorite to be our LT.  I fear it doesn't matter how well Nate plays in the pre-season, Bell is probably going to be our starter for at least 4 weeks into the regular season no matter what. (It took an injury to Beason before the coaching staff finally placed Kuechly as our starting inside linebacker)

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
