Give me a few stats/numbers/stipulations that need to happen in order to categorize this upcoming season as successful.. what could Marvin do to make you think he is worth his contract? what would the team's record need to be to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

 

maybe Kemba shooting .450 FG% or averaging 7+ asissts a game?

 

maybe Big Al averageing at least 18/10?

 

maybe Taylor playing a certain amount of games?

 

maybe MKG averaging 10ppg?

 

Zeller? Vonleh? PJ? Neal?

----------------------------------------------------------

 

these are just some things to get you thinking.....

My personal opinion on what a successful season is, is garnering at least the sixth seed in the playoffs and at the very least a competitive playoff series (seven games) or a playoff series victory.

I'd also like to see Kemba become a complete player and at the very least Biyombo develop a decent offensive game. I don't think we can afford to pay $5.5 mil for a player who is defined as just a rim protector. He needs to show some signs of development that he hasn't shown in the past.

Playoff series win or season was a failure. Team needs to be blown up again if it's cap is 7/8 seed and first round exit.

They have picked the youngest player in the past three drafts. They have given a "major" contract to two players and only one is on the books.

This idea that we automatically left the rebuilding stage simply because of a token playoff appearance is not true. You can't blow something up if you haven't even given it a chance to grow yet. Re-tool, yes. But a complete tank is unnecessary. This franchise hasn't won a single playoff game in their modern existence.

To answer the thread, a playoff win is a success for me. Miami isn't going to fall off as most were hoping and Cleveland emphatically re-joined the playoff picture.

Kemba plays like a real point guard

Less reliance on BiG Al to win games

PJ proves he was a good decision to draft

All young players take a nice step in development

Attendance over 94% average for home games

Win a playoff series

      My projection. I think at WR its time to go with youth. This means Moore should be the odd man out. Horn can return both punts and kicks and Tremayne is a better WR than Moore. XL gets one more year to prove himself, although I could see a trade in the future which would mean Moore could stay. For OL, I would like us to bring back Brady if we can. The RBs, Trevor can return both punts and kicks too. With the uncertainty of Brooks and Dillon, its hard to choose either one. I think the team would like for Brooks to have a breakout season to clear any uncertainty that he deserves a spot. For now, I have them both even and on the team. DL looks solid as well as OLB. Watch out for the UDFA of Aaron Hall and Isaiah Smith at OLB. They look promising and could knock someone off the team. ILB is still the biggest weakness on the team. We need to upgrade that any means necessary.       His contract is guaranteed.  Legette is just not where he needs to be mentally.  Not fully invested, it seems.

      Literally like Hill. He's not QB1 material (now or ever), but if we can turn him into a H-back and use him like  Swiss army knife, that's his ticket to make the roster.  H-back/emergency QB.  I wonder how good his hands are?  If they are at least above average by NFL standards then we can line him up in the backfield, in the slot, split out wide and of course, in the Wildcat.
