Depth Chart and potential signings

PG: Kemba -- Roberts -- ???

SG: Lance -- Hendo -- Neal -- PJ

SF: MKG -- Taylor -- ???

PF: Williams -- Zeller -- Vonleh

C: Jefferson -- Biz -- ???

—I think we need another scoring SF to back up MKG, especially with the possibility of Taylor not recovering or going down with another injury.

—I also think we need another BIG, because outside of Al, Marvin and Biz- we don't have a lot of experience.

—I'm not too concerned with signing another PG because Lance can handle that job pretty well too.

Anyways, who is left on the market that can help us in the 2 areas I mentioned above?

SFs: Evan Turner, Shawn Marion, CDR, Xavier Henry, Michael Beasley

PF/Cs: Carlos Boozer, Andray Blatche, Ed Davis, Emeka Okafor, Andrew Bynum

My Votes:

SF: Evan Turner- he fits perfectly with Lance... pfffft, j/k
Give me some CDR for sure. He was great for us last year moving the ball around and scoring (in the clutch, i might add) when his number was called. We could always add some more 3pt scoring and he fits the bill better than anyone out there right now. He knows the system and Clifford trusts him. I would imagine for him to be scooped up here pretty soon.

PF/C: We might put a bid in on Boozer, but I think Andray Blatche could be so helpful to our BIG rotation. He played big minutes for Brooklyn the past few years. He's gritty like Stephenson is. He can play PF or C too. He is going to visit with Toronto today so this might be unrealistic if he gets signed later today, but he could be another very solid depth signing.

What say you?

I like pargo as 3rd pg

My pick for SF: Beasley

The guy is young and has underrated talent. Rebounds well on top of reasonable point totals.

My pick for C: Ed Davis

Also young and underrated. He would be a steal IMO. He's been stashed behind vets his whole career but has always proven his worth when he gets those longer bench minutes. Potentially our starting PF/C if Vonleh or Zeller struggle in the future?

I like these picks because you'd get talent as good as some vets but would also continue to build for the future.

I honestly don't see why we don't try to get Davis if we can't get Boozer. Maybe he wants too much money? I really haven't watched him much in the pros but he has the prototypical body for a center since college.

When he got the opportunity to start in Toronto, he avg something like 17-10 with 2blk he has a secret talent that we need to grab immediately

Unless you move some of that logjam at the 2 spot you might free up some space to make a run at a contributor, with the starters and 2nd unit pretty much locked in we're probably looking for good locker room vets which, quite honestly, is probably the best thing for us right now.

    • JC not this ish again.  Brees: 80,000 career passing yards 5 seasons of 5,000+ yards 10 seasons of 30+ TD passes Career completion percentage of 67.7% 37 games where he threw 4 TDs.  Best WRs were Colston, Thomas, Cooks, Lance Moore and TE Jimmy Graham/ Shockey. The only first rounder was Shockey (and Bush but he was a RB). Thomas was a stud... drafted with the 47th pick. That was the highest picked WR he threw to. 47th. Graham was a stud. Shockey was a stud. The rest of the receivers would have been jags on most other teams. Brees never had a first round WR to throw to.  Colston never even made a pro bowl. Oh, and no spygate to benefit from.  Prime Brees was UNBEATABLE in the dome. A bad day for Brees was 2 TDs. He was a 4d chess grand master.  Brees has a wallet that probably says bad mf’er. Bryce has a goofy ass backpack.  Listen, Drew Brees put up unreal numbers throwing to mostly jags in an era that highlighted running the ball, the receivers could get mugged and QBs got lit the f up on the regular without penalty. Hell, they went so far as to make a tv segment (jacked up!!!) to applaud the violence of the game. He never even had a first round WR. Brees was a better QB than Peyton Manning. There, I said it. Bro is on the short list for best QB ever.  This is facts with some of my own personal opinion mixed in, but mostly facts.  Those who keep pushing this narrative, did y’all actually watch Brees play? His game is in no way similar to Bryce’s. Brees on this team is a deep playoff contender and Tet would look like prime megatron.  Im sorry y’all, I know I sound like a complete homer, but when I hear hyperbole that is insultingly obtuse, it gets under my skin.
    • No, surely not. He's at least 4-9 if not 5-0!
    • That's cool but he should really get some help with producing these.  The content is good.  But it's like he's filming a 90's CRT computer monitor with his cell phone camera inside of his bathroom.
