Training Camp Coverage - You Tell Me

Jeremy Igo

Recommended Posts

Starting Friday I will be attending every practice for a week.

I will once again be posting photos in the patent pending daily story time threads as well as conducting player interviews and twittering here and there.

So I have a few question for you all.

1. What do you look forward to most about training camp coverage

2. What do you least enjoy about training camp coverage (tweets, photos, redundant interviews, etc)

3. Do you have any particular positional matchup that you find most intriguing

4. Who are your dark horse players?

But seriously, you do a great job as it is already in covering TC.  Just keep doing what you normally do every year and keep us up to date with what you think is the most interesting.  I'm sure others will toss out some ideas i'm too lazy to think of right now.

Can't wait to see our new look secondary, Kony Ealy, and 2nd year Big Star.

Greg Olsen:

I think he's going into a breakout season. With a newly fixed WR group, I think Shula will feature Greg Olsen in a variety of ways. He will be Cam's go to receiver.

Dark horse players: Philly Brown, Bene Benwikere, and Carrington Byndom.

Matchup: STAR LOTULELEI vs. AMINI SILATOLU

1. LOVE the camp pics!!! I'll be attending a couple practices next week as well but the pics are always great!

2. Personally I don't like the redundant politically correct interviews....ask them some crazy questions to mix it up haha

3. Really interested In the Chase Blackburn/ AJ Klein battle and of course the chandler/bell scenario....and also if Melvin white takes the next step this year the whole secondary will be interesting to watch

4. Dark horse if you wanna call it that is bene benwikere, super interested to see how he develops, and also Robert Lester, again not really a dark horse as he was productive last year

You do a fantastic job not just with Training Camp but with everything you do for this site in general. Don't change anything.

I do second the pie question though. Once you know a man's favorite pie you know their character.

As far as mashups:

WR- Where is KB getting reps and how does he look? Underwood legit speed guy or camp fodder? Does one of King/McNutt look ready to contribute?

OT: for obvious reasons.

DE: Hows Kony look. Is Hardy in shape and taking his 13 mil serious on the field at least?

RB: Do we have the double trouble of old? How's Stew look? Fresh? And the kid out of Stanford. We know he can pass block but how are his hands and technique?

Josh Norman is my dark horse player. Will Smitty being gone could he be one of those players constantly berratted here and there?

If he could make a jump to play like he does in practice man oh man our already stout D could be that much better.

Well, I most enjoy your incredible photographs and commentary going along with each one.

I would love it if you could throw in some light hearted, offbeat questions instead of just all the same old canned questions.

I'm interested in Bell/Chandler and how Kony Ealy is developing, especially given the Hardy situation.

I think the dark horse is also Bene. Just have a good feeling about him.

Thank you for giving us all the goods J!

2 days until the gloriousness of football returns.....

1. Definitely excited to see some of the great pics you post.

2. I agree with most of the guys here in that the interviews can be crazy redundant, but some questions about the team chemistry would be good.

3. The defensive backfield competition and of course O-line and WR battles are what intrigue me this year. Looking forward to seeing how Godfrey performs with moving back to the corner position, if the 'left-handed' theory holds any weight lol, and although we don't have any primadonas (or however you spell that) at the WR position that should make for the best position battle of camp.

4. Brenston Bersin, Lyndon Gaydosh, and Josh Norman are my dark horses. Every article I have read that mentions Bersin point out his precise route running and hard work. Gaydosh has peaked my interest since last camp and I'm hoping we've found yet another big hog mollie to add to the best D-line in all of football. And I think this is the year Norman finally puts it all together, it's either now or never and I'm hoping the light bulb has finally decided to turn on with him.

That all being said I have always enjoyed your camp pics and posts. So continue doing things the way you have and you'll have a bunch of satisfied huddlers!

I love the photos. There is not much that I dislike about coverage.

Questions? Anything that can get the player out of cliche mode.

Camp battles I am most interested in will be Nickel, RG, OT, and FB. I'm kind of intrigued by Zordich.

I think Andrew Norwell could be a sleeper at LG and Zordich could emerge as our FB.

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
