FO: Panthers most likely candidate for First to Worst

Yep. It's a combination of the relative strength of our division plus our "question marks" (which honestly I only think the stability of the offensive line is a question mark, but we all know what the media thinks). They even mention the AFC South's shittiness:

Exactly, a dropoff for us could easily result in a 7-9 season. Which could be the basement. But as long as the colts have a breathing quarterback for at least 12 games, they are going to be better than the Jags and Titans, and probably the Texans for that manner.

Rest of the list:

2. Indianapolis Colts, 17.9 percent
3. Cincinnati Bengals, 17.0 percent
4. Philadelphia Eagles, 12.4 percent
5. Green Bay Packers, 8.7 percent
6. New England Patriots, 8.2 percent
7. Seattle Seahawks, 8.1 percent
8. Denver Broncos, 2.3 percent

One of the worst written, researched article I ever read here (and you know you guys put up some doozies) that requires no further comments.

And people PAY FOR THIS!??? :phew:

Man, we lost 3/4 of our secondary? Dang dude. We lose. Those guys were grade A and everyone was hyping or secondary up last year. 0 wins. Called it.

Less than a year ago other teams were calling out our secondary. Everyone forget about the Jets already? Hell even our coach was buying it. Game ball went to J Williams after Captain career best..

I love the percentages taken to the first demical to give the notion that some actual thought went into these predications.

I assert that 87.4 percent of all opinion pieces are made of poo that has been flung against a wall to see what would stick.

These things always amuse me.  I wish that I could be wrong about everything most of the time, make horrendous projections and be consistently wrong year after year and STILL have a job...

Where do I fuggin sign up

So you want to be a weatherman?

The posters that poo poo any slightly negative article (and how is this negative when it's saying there's a 70% chance we DO NOT go from First to Worst?!!!) are the first ones to want to jump off a cliff at the first sign of adversity.

True story.

I get you. I understand that and in most cases you are correct.

However, could it just maybe, possibly on the off chance be that some are so sick and tired of hearing/seeing/reading the same half cocked narratives?

Agreed.

No one here appears to knock media narratives/predictions that make sense (whether they agree with their conclusions or not). However, so many Panther predictions appear to be built on total nonsense (usually easy to spot), and that's what most posters appear to have a problem with.

My two cents.

    • Wanting that type of play and being okay with paying $55 million a season for it are two entirely different things. If Bryce were to become the same player Purdy has been, then he would surpass my expectations of him and I'd be okay with him as our QB of the future (and again, I've long been one of the bigger anti Bryce people here who doesn't think he is capable of being our long term solution). But in no world would I be okay with paying him THAT kind of money, paying an average starter elite money is just a terrible decision.
    • I don't think they can overcome that mistake. Hell Lance was a hiccup compared to this. He isn't going to be able to carry that price tag and now he is going to have to do just that. Lol. The NFL is so dumb sometimes.
    • So, one could say that T-Mac is quicker than someone of his size should be and while he might not be quite as fast as Evans in the 40, he's more athletic than Evans. If only someone, anyone, could have seen that in his tape and mentioned that on here, hmmmmmmm In all seriousness, hearing he tested in the 89th percentile in that drill at his size is crazy impressive.  Just tried to look up the times of the top WRs in the league right now, most don't show at time for that, but I did see Chase ran his in 7 seconds flat. I honestly don't know how true this is, but I do remember seeing one breakdown of his tape and the person said he has quiet and efficient feet.  That he's really good at using the minimal steps possible to make his cuts and because of that, it actually makes him look slower to the human eye because you don't see all the quick chop steps that the guys like Tyreek would use in their running. I'm still in a state of disbelief that he's a Panther and it might not fully hit me until week 1 and I see him out there making plays for us, still feels like Goodell is going to just be like, "YOU GOT PUNKED!!!  hahaha, he's a Cowboy now, suck it"
