He earned it. Frank is our 3rd best DE imo. Lucky for us we might not miss him as much for the 4 games he's suspended for because we are so deep on the Dline.

He meant exactly what he said. Nothing is given, everything is earned with this defense. Frank has the tools hopefully he's matured enough and utilizes his talents.

Starters need reps in game action. Especially cam with the receivers. First game though is meh. I'd like to see him play in the 3rd and 4th preseason game though

Right, besides the staff has some very tough decisions on who gets cut. It wont be long til those decisions are to be made. They need all the possible evaluations they can get.

You have to admit, the Alexander comment and start came as a surprise to most of you (us).  I wanted to hear what yall thought.   Here is my theory on DEs:

 

They take 2 seasons to groom.  CJ was mediocre in years 1 and 2.  Same with Hardy.  Year 3 was the charm.  I think it is Alexander's time, even though he is entering year 4 (I think).  He was in the dog house last year, so....

 

About Ealy--give him a chance, but we do not need him this year.  Let him get stronger and learn some moves and how to get violent with his hands.

Heard someone say Benjamin dropped his first 3 passes today at practice? Any truth to this?

He definitely dropped a few today. I'm not sure if it was his first 3 but I saw 2 drops in action.

There is no need for Cam to play, we already know what CJ brings to the table.  Honestly, if I had my way we would only play preseason games for rookies and camp invites to show their worth. jmo

 

some teams need the preseason games to determine who their starters will be. you can only do that if you play everyone, not just rookies and camp invites
