Jonathan Stewart says Panthers have DEEPEST and BEST backs in the NFL

so pretty much this was a thread creation fail?

Its just silly.

Thats one thing I have learned this camp after spending more time with the media. If it were a court room, it would be leading the witness objections all day long.

Instead of asking "What are your thoughts on the rb's" its "Do you think the rb's are the deepest and best in the NFL"

Reporters are framing their questions so the answers fit within the article they are writing. Watch for an article soon on how deep the panthers RB corp is.

I tend to ask open ended questions, allowing the players to talk. For instance with Josh Norman in the locker room it was "Talk to me about the interception" and not "So you jumped the route on the reciever and made a great play, right? "

Maybe I am doing it wrong, but it seems more genuine if these guys just talk on their own without much prodding.

reporters do this all the time and have for years. they know in advance what they want to say and so they lead the player by framing the question to fit their story. i think person is the worst that I've seen from the beat reporters here and he can't take a hint when he gets a "no comment" or the question isnt answered the way he wanted so he just keeps on trying to rephrase it.

what is going to make you better than the other guys is that you are doing it right and making it easier for them to tell their story rather than them just being a vehicle for you to get your little predetermined soundbite or tweet. don't put words in their mouths the way these other media clowns do and don't let the "journalists" lead you to believe that what they do is the way to do it.

Hey look guys, I practiced for the first time in 3 years.  We are the best.

We are also paid about triple of any other group of RB's in the league

After hearing how Zod said it went down, I would take this back for the most part.

IF all of them are healthy, IF the offensive line is at least average, IF the wide outs catch passes thrown to them... Then yea, maybe they could be the best trio in the league.

But it doesn't matter, they have to show they are the best. I've been tootin their horn for 6 years now and tired of taking up for them. Prove it.

BTW, mike tolbert is the best "running back" on this team.

Give me a break.

Use common sense. Don't go out there and tell everyone you are part of the greatest group when you have been training for the tour de france for the last couple of years. Just be happy you are royally paid and prove you are the best. I don't want to hear a lot of talk about it. It is always better for other people to say you are the best group rather than telling it to others.

you guys act like you don't have a thought of your own sometimes. good grief

I am a fan, I don't worship any of these players, I can disagree from time to time with how they handle their business

who's better?

I think Dan Patrick is one of the best in the game at interviews and that's his style..   Has spoken extensively about it over the years, typically, while bashing idiotic questions in the media..

Has he ever finished a season without injury?

I'm being serious I can't remember if he has

Sent from my XT1080 using CarolinaHuddle mobile app

3 seasons straight until 2011, and I can't remember if he finished that season but it was his best year IMO..

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
