Is Ron Rivera an NFL Top 10 Coach?

Definitely not top 10. I'd probably rather have him than Coughlin but then again, Coughlin has 2 super bowls. I'd rather have Chip Kelly too but that's another story. Bottom line, Riverboat had one good season that saved his job. He's improving and in the top 20...nothing more.

the salt over John in top 10 but not Ron, lol.

Ron is in a great position to prove his worth as a coach this season. If you wanna chalk up the first two seasons as learning as a coach fine. I'll give him all credit for last year, the call in the Saints game was balls to the walls.

So if he can have us in playoffs again, he'll deserve top 15 for sure. I hope he does it! :)

No he's not

He's done about as much as Fox has.

Fox rode his talent. He always has. He never had the balls to Riverboat Ron. He's a fundamentals guy but he can't adjust when things don't go well for him. Ron adapts his plan to his players, not the other way around.

The best season Fox ever coached was 2004. He's been riding Steve Smith and Peyton Manning ever since.

Hypothetically, if we were to go 6-10 or worst... What becomes of Rivera? Does Gettleman keep him knowing Rivera brought the team to the playoffs before or go with someone else?

Hypothetically I'd say give McDermott the job. He's gone at end of season for a head job anyway. Hypothetically.

RR is excellent at the X and O.s of football but also developing football players. Defensive strategy is also a strength. The defensive game plans he showed last year were pure brilliance. His defensive game plans last year were game plans that Dick LeBeau would be proud of.
