Melvin White + Bene Benwikere; plus some secondary notes

A lot of fans had the opinion the WR group could be an improvement so our passing game hasn't been a huge surprise and the OL is kinda what I'd thought it would be.....but this secondary behind our front-7 is looking very good.  Even when the opposing QB has had sufficient time these past 2 weeks, it's been hard for them to find open guys.   I'm thinking we've got some great players in place for the future back there.  

 

In particular, Melvin White and Bene Benwikere are the future at CB and Cason is proving to be no slouch minus a few off years recently.  

 

DeCoud was all over the field and SS isn't looking as terrible as I had thought.  

 

Big ups to our defense proving it's such a force and here's to Cason, White and Bene continuing to light things up.

When you hold a team like the Lions to only 7 points, you had a damn good day on defense at every level. I'm done doubting Gettleman and Rivera when it comes to defensive personnel. Rivera and crew will find a way to make it elite.

Meanwhile, Phillip Rivers and the Chargers are lighting up the Legion of Doom today. They've hung 27 on them through 3 quarters and have been on the field the whole game.

He's proven to be a legit NFL starter.  23 and 25 will be back there together for a good bit of years.

Encouraging thing was that even when the pass rush failed to get pressure on Stafford at various times, the secondary stepped up and shut down the receivers, what makes our defense elite, no weak links

This management and coaching staff is the best we've ever had from the top to the bottom. I absolutely love everything about this team right now (except the Hardy situation).
