Wes Horton: A "Did You Know?" Thread

Horton (6-foot-5, 265) signed with Carolina as an undrafted rookie out of the University of Southern California last season. He had two sacks and eight tackles in 2013. 

He wears 96. He has a tightly trimmed chinstrap beard. His dad, Mike Horton, was Gemini on "American Gladiators." Wes had two sacks last season, both against Tampa Bay.

We had four girls sitting behind us that apparently were friends, family, or girlfriends of Wes Horton. Every time he got on the field, or came close to making a play they were going bonkers.

You were sitting close to where I was, they were about 10 feet away from me.  A woman a few seats away got their story.  One of the girls was Horton's girlfriend, two were his sisters and the last was a friend.  Apparently the Panthers have a program for wives and girlfriends of players where they help move them out to Charlotte and help them find a job here so they can be with their significant other.  The girlfriend has been here a couple of months thanks to the Panthers and the rest of the girls drove from Los Angeles over four days to make it to the game.

There's almost always friends/family of players sitting there. Sean May was there a few years ago, showed up at the start of the second quarter and left midway through the third!
