They're really good. Some teams can exploit what they don't do well, but not too many.

they have Panthers #3 in NFC, only behind Seahawks and Eagles

the titan game ended up being a good thing.  that's what happens when a good team starts drinking their own kool aid.   the panthers did that last year, and i think the bad taste is still in their mouths.

General consensus was we had been "exposed".

Probably hear the same thing first time we lose a game this year (especially if we lose badly).

The one that kind of sticks in my craw is ranking the Eagles ahead of us. I don't mind seeing the Seahawks, Broncos, or Bengals ahead of us (New England shouldn't be ahead of us either, but Tom Brady bias bumps them up 2-3 spots).

The Eagles are 2-0, yes. They lead the league in yards and points per game. But they have gotten down by double digits, in the second half, against two of the ABSOLUTE WORST defenses in the league. They can get out of these giant holes when they're facing the Jags and Colts defenses. I'll be interested to see just how well they fare in Week 4 (@ SF, although their defense looks like it's regressed), Week 8 (@ ARI), Week 9 (@ HOU), Week 10 (Carolina), and Week 14 (Seattle). Let's see how many points Foles and Co. drop then. Let's see them dig out of a 14+ point hole then.

    • It’s definitely a bit of a crapshoot, but Joe covers the team for a living—there’s a baseline expectation that he should have a deep, working knowledge of the roster, positional groups, and overall team needs. That kind of familiarity should come through in the analysis. At times, though, it feels more like he approaches covering the Panthers as an assignment rather than something he’s genuinely invested in. When you read some of the other beat writers at The Athletic, the contrast stands out. There’s a noticeable difference in how deeply they dive into roster construction, scheme fits, player development, and front office philosophy. Their work often feels more detailed, more nuanced, and more connected to the day-to-day reality of the team. That’s not to say Joe doesn’t provide value, but compared to some of his peers, the level of insight and depth just doesn’t always feel as sharp or as thorough as it could be
    • Per Tony Pauline: https://www.essentiallysports.com/nfl-active-news-sources-giants-heavily-weighing-wr-with-ten-pick-amid-malik-nabers-injury-concerns-david-bailey-a-game-changer-for-robert-saleh/ Surprise Picks In The First Round As we get closer to the draft, the chatter is getting louder about surprise picks in the bottom half of Round 1. So which teams are talked about as pulling shockers right now, just a few days out from the start of the draft? Most I’ve spoken with say keep an eye on picks 20, 21, and 22, presently owned by the Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Los Angeles Chargers. I’m told cornerback Chris Johnson and linebacker Jacob Rodriguez are in play for the Cowboys with the 20th pick, their second selection in the initial round. Rodriguez is also being spoken about as a possibility for the Buffalo Bills at the 26th pick.
    • Who was better Jon Beason or Jrod???, for college prospect terms in their drafts...   I think its clear and Jon was what 25th?   Jarod does have luke-like traits and that was 9th overall.   I feel Jon had him covered tho....
