Interesting that the Panthers coaching staff graded KB higher this week than last. Yet, PFF grades him worse. Tells you how much faith to put in PFF.

sometimes it feels like the Panther grades are almost used as motivational tools more than grades in certain circumstances

I mean we have watched some slop before only to have the player comeback and say the coaching staff gave him a 97.

But PFF often has some head scratchers

This from the site that still thinks Gano plays for the Redskins?

Pretty hard to disagree with any of this.

Chandler and Klein both played poorly. Dickson had one opportunity and dropped it. Dwan had the big personal foul and will undoubtedly be hearing from the league. CJ disappeared.

KB did not have a good game overall either. His one-handed catch was spectacular, but leave that out and we'd all be talking about how he had a rough game. He's a rookie though, and should continue to show progress.

I'm really concerned about Klein.  He didn't have a good pre-season either.

Klein can be a long term solution, but in preseason Blackburn showed out so much better than Klein. I'm not sure if he's starting if Chase didn't injure his back.

According to PFF they've only let him on the field for 3 defensive snaps.

AJ has some emotional stuff going on to with his family.. This may play a part.

good point, I forgot.  I'll certainly give him some leeway.  He's only 2 games into his second season,

and his first season looked very promising, especially as a 5th round pick.

Hoping things go his way on the field and off.

I agree mostly. Kelvin had a tough game and our D-line, outside of Mario, actually only looked okay. Detroits d line looked better.

Also our line seemed to really struggle to open up running lanes.

Our secondary has been a very pleasant surprise so far and I think actually has been outplaying our dline. I'm enjoying watching these no names play great.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
