Are we overlooking the Steelers?

With all the media attention and the incessant chatter and news on Rice, AP and Hardy…the NFL and in general the media are overlooking the Panthers.  The fans are too centered on outrage/anger about or for Hardy and are potentially overlooking the Steelers (I can't as I live in PA and see the team and their fans all the time).  Are the Panthers overlooking them?  I do not think so.  There has been a witch hunt over the front office and Riverboat's handling of Hardy.  I think the team is fed up with 50XXXX questions about Hardy (but that is simply my temperature gauge over what I have seen the past 2 weeks) and whether his absence/off the field issues are a distraction to the team.

I do not think the Panthers are overlooking the Steelers, as they have been overlooked themselves for years.  The Steelers had a long week to prepare and I expect it will be a ground and pound game to start before things open up later.

I am ready to move on to football.  I bet the team and coaching staff are too and come out pumped and ready! I can't wait to see BOA rocking!

SMF has a good point. Of course, there have been distractions.  I don't care if we overlook the Steelers if the Panthers don't.  I think this team is focused and mature.

Remember, in the Panthers last 14 regular-season games, they are 13-1, with the only loss vs. the Saints down in the dome.  Not a team that looks past many others.

pittsburg whips the panthers ass every time they play it seems.  the culture of this panthers club, as well as the steelers, is decidedly different this time around than it has been in more recent years.  time to return the favor.

My hatred of those knuckle-draggers is such that if we drop 40 on them, I'll be disappointed.  And we still owe Payton at least 60 for the '11 closer...

11 of 14 ESPN analysts are picking us to beat the Steelers. The Huddle and the fan base as a whole has already penciled in a W; I don't even see a single thread about the Steelers game that's been posted.

Is that wise? The Steelers will have had 10 days to prepare and the Panthers generally aren't that hot in primetime. We haven't beaten the Steelers since 1996. Roethlisberger is a perfect quarterback to take advantage of no Hardy by rolling to Addison/Horton/Ealy's side when Hardy would have been able to contain him.

I think the Panthers will win too, but I don't think this is a done deal by any stretch of the imagination. I like the Panthers in a 20-14 sort of game.

Thoughts?

These are the worst threads on the huddle, and really show a lack of knowledge on the fans' part. Our team's mantra is "one game at a time" they prepare all week for the opponent. There is no such thing as "overlooking team X" or "is this a trap game?"

The aforementioned ideas are ignorance on a fans' part. In saying that, Dear Huddlers, let's refrain from this in the future.
