Overall, doesn't this feel like the worst NFL season you can remember?

i don't even remember it really. i remember being at the stadium when pickles came out at halftime against the bucs and thought i was witnessing history… which i was, just the wrong kind. and then it's just a blur of games like the bengals, which was atrocious, and the ravens, which was emasculating, and then i escaped for thailand for a month and ended the season with a $10 scalped ticket to watch us poop on the saints in 5-degree weather when dwayne jarrett caught his first career touchdown.

this season is so much better than that

You're getting your years mixed up, Jarrett scored his TD in the last game of the 2009 season.

I actually agree 100%, I think we are seeing the start of the fall of the NFL roman empire, I honestly just seem to be getting less and less intrested in the nfl. I was even feeling this before we imploded. The NFL is too much about luck. It just takes a couple huge penalties to decide a game. Way too many blowout games, injuries to key players happening way more often, places like ESPN trying to turn the NFL into a WWE soap opera with story lines..

I think they need to do away with pass interference calls resulting in the offense moving all the way to the spot of the foul, that is so unfair its not even funny. A team is at their own 20, suddenly on a deep bomb they now are in the redzone because of a PI call and its like, really?! Im sorry, but pass interference isnt serious enough for such a harsh penalty. It should be a automatic first down and a 10 or 15 yd penalty at most.

Roughing the QB penalties should be able to be reviewed. There is just too much parity in the NFL. I understand that, thats what makes it intresting but there has to be some level of consistency.

Just too many flags make the game unwatchable. I damn sure dont like college football. I think I might just go be a NBA hermit. Football fans are also very annoying, the NBA takes more true skill and more talent than the NFL and less fluke and luck. Bring on the NBA already

Something is seriously wrong around the league. I mean, The Jets DL got slapped around yesterday by The Packers' OL, and Patrick Willis and Justin Smith were utter poo yesterday too.

With the new drug testing available, is it possible that some of these studs have been using PEDs, and thus we're finally seeing the effect this season?

That theory is so crazy it's probably exactly true. I'm going to file this post away in the old memory bank.

I was way more pumped for the NBA to start even before the NFL season started now it's not even close.

I love the NBA but I just wish there was less games. I think they should have only 24 games and I think it should be organized like the NFL, all teams and all games be played Saturday afternoon and a prime time game on Saturday and Tuesday nights. If the NBA was structured more like the NFL in terms of scheduling and the amount of games played, it would be the greatest thing of all time.

The NBA is a much better sport, its just so convoluted with way too many games. 24 games would be perfect, 25 weeks just like how the NFL is structured

If we were 4-0 would this post have been made?   I think the effect of 2 blow out losses are effecting you.  My interest in the NFL wanes as far as Panther play.  Last year was a great year (especially during the streak).  This year started out awesome, the last 2 losses have been painful, especially now that my son is old enough to watch more than a quarter without jumping off a couch.   But nothing else I would rather do on a Sunday.

NBA?  Maybe to see how the New Cleveland team is doing, or maybe to watch Kobe/Durant.  But as a whole?  Wake me when the NBA playoffs start.

MLB? My grandad is pumped.

NCAA FB?  Still fun to watch.

Everything else?  If no football is on, no football related show, and the forums are down then yes.

If the Ray Rice thing isn't enough proof, the NFL is reactionary, if things get too bad they will make changes.

It's interesting you bring up the NBA. I think alot of that can be attributed to the regime change up top and the great start to the Adam Silver era. It's no secret the last few years of David Stern were ugly, but Silver's time so far has felt like a breath of fresh air that has rejuvenated the league. Add in the end of the most hated dynasty since the Bad Boy Pistons and the return of the Charlotte Hornets and you have a ton of good vibes headed to November.

If Goodell would resign, I think you would see the exact same thing with the NFL.
