NFL needs to redo the overtime rules...

There should not be a tie game in the NFL.  And just the same, they should ensure both teams get a fair chance to win the game.

Make it sudden death after the first possession, regardless if each team gets a TD or a FG.  And the game goes on as if it's a playoff game.

I'd rather they just played another quarter and call the game at the end of it, but I'm mostly ok with what they have now. At least you can't eek out a drive to the 40 and win with a FG without the other team getting a shot any more. That was some fuging bullshit.

Yall are being ungrateful for this game ending up in a tie.  We could have lost.  As for changing the rules, no.  The rules are perfect the way they are.  You really want to play 6 quarters of football?  Hard hitting, season ending injury type football for 6 quarters?  Come now.  I rather walk away with a tie, than winning it in the 6th quarter and losing Olsen or someone else to a season ending injury.

College way is better. They don't drag on as long as some say, especially once they ramp up the stakes after the 2nd OT. But here you guys are advocating for a 2nd OT quarter, which would be far more taxing on the players than anything else.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
