The year I became a Panthers fan

I've been a fan since I moved to NC when I was 8, the same year the panthers moved to town.

I didn't become a FAN fan until I was old enough to understand and appreciate the nuances of the game/offseason.

Sometimes I miss my ignorance. it would have made my Sundays less crappy over the past 4 or so years (minus last year)

2001-the year we went 1-15.

I was 12, and that's the year I really got into football. At that time I pretty much felt obligated to support them since they were in NC, and that's where I'm from. Also, I felt sorry for the team. Most the kids I went to school with disliked the Panthers, called them losers (sad thing is we're in NC and they felt like this). I was one of those kids who tried to go against the grain. If a group of kids liked something, I said I hated it lol. Well, me liking the panthers back then was a way to go against the grain. It's been rough, but I'm all in for this team for life. They're my hometown team. It's funny most of my friends from back then like the Panthers ever since we've gotten Cam. I don't give them w hard time, but I gotta let them know I'm the OG Panthers fan lol.

    • I'm looking at the schedule and I see a 10+win season easy.  I think Carolina goes undefeated in the division.  I also believe that the Bears, Bengals, Lions, Browns, Steelers are very winnable.  Revenge game with phillips and the eagles could be a win.  Honestly only 2 games I see as chalking up a L to off the bat is the Seahawks and Broncos.
    • I guess so. Don't think I was involved with previous discussions.  Tepper is one of the newest owners in the NFL. Dan is going into his 3rd season as a GM - ever. Dave is going into his 3rd season as a HC - ever. Before becoming a HC, he was an OC/playcaller for one season total. Idzik is about to go into his 1st year as a play caller - ever. WRs are rookies, sophomores and 3rd year guys - though the experienced 3rd year guys are XL and Coker (who has missed a ton of games). TEs are guys going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, and Tommy Tremble - though Sanders has missed a ton of games. QB has played 3 years. Chuba is an experienced RB, but Brooks and Etienne have taken very little snaps at the position. O-line is more experienced vets with some talent - which is HUGE. Need them to stay healthy. I mean the offense is very young in every aspect except O-line. You see it differently?
