the official "ron fuging sucks" thread

Recommended Posts

The guy won last year when we had talent. We literally don't have a single player on the OL or secondary that another team would start with the exception being Ryan Kalil. You can win with a couple of those guys on your team. You can't win with half a squad of them.

We moved a crap RT to LT and converted a DL to OL and expect him to play RT at a high level.

We pick up three guys who got cut (bc they are old and suck) in Decoud, Harper, and Cason.

We try to convert an overpaid safety who is coming off an Achilles injury to nickel corner.

Melvin White...an upstart who played well situationally is counted on as our best DB.

And there is the often undervalued situation that is our DL situation which is missing our two best pass rushers (yes I believe Alexander would have been as good or better than CJ). Which is only compounded by the fact that 13 mil of our cap is going to a guy who has played one game.

This is the least talented team in the NFL right now and the only reason we are 3-2-1 is that our QB and LBs are superstars.

Say what you want about Ron, he hasn't done much to help himself this season. But do know that there is something WRONG with this defense and it's not just the coaching, it's the players. The fact we're watching this game where our D is getting their ass beat and none of them are showing much heart shows they aren't giving it their all. If I am a player right now, they might beat me all day but they are gonna bleed out and pay for every score and pass they catch. If I'm a player I'm here to bring the pain if nothing else at this point. I'm not seeing any of it and that is a player issue.

its more gettleman for not keeping smith and that secondary.I wanted kb cause I knew smith would compliment him well.

also gettleman did not try hard enough to get a LT/oline for pass/run game.

also hardy getting in stupid trouble.

stupid playcalling from shula and ron.

cam probably leaves Carolina if this season does not turn around.

Ron wants the def to be more disciplined and not let their emotions get away from them.......he actually thinks that's the only reason we lost to SF and guess what. This is what a srs no emotion team gets you.

Anyone who thinks this is just "bad personnel" is kidding themselves. There have been many poor defensesthroughout the annals of league history. That doesn't mean they go out every week and get obliterated like this. Especially not with a handful of talented players like we have.

It is coaching. Something is going wrong on the practice field or in the film room and Ron has been too stupid or too stubborn to identify/fix it.

Someone is in denial.

    • https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47371200/sources-rams-fire-special-teams-coordinator-chase-blackburn LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Rams have fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The move marks the first in-season coaching change that Rams head coach Sean McVay has made in his nine seasons in Los Angeles. Rams assistant special teams coach Ben Kotwica will take over and become the lead special teams coach, a source told Schefter. The Rams, 11-4 and second place in the NFC West, lost to the Seahawks on Thursday night in a game that included a Seattle punt return for a touchdown and a missed 48-yard field goal by Los Angeles kicker Harrison Mevis. The Seahawks (12-3) overtook the Rams for first place in the division and the top overall record in the NFC thanks to the 38-37 overtime victory. Though the Rams have lost only four games this season, three have involved special teams miscues. In the Rams' first loss of the season, 33-26 to the Eagles, Los Angeles had its final two offensive possessions end with blocked kicks. In the Rams' Week 10 victory over the Saints, kicker Joshua Karty missed an extra point and a 39-yard field goal attempt. After the game, McVay said the Rams' special teams issues "can't continue like this." Los Angeles replaced long-snapper Alex Ward with Jake McQuaide and Karty with Mevis, who had not missed a kick until Thursday night in Seattle. Blackburn, 42, was in his third season as the Rams' special teams coordinator. A former linebacker for the Giants and Panthers, he also has worked as an assistant with Carolina and Tennessee.
    • It was a bad play from Icky but the OL didn't give up a sack until late in the 4th quarter and Bryce just stood there like he was canatonic. If our 3rd year number one overall pick can't overcome one single sack against a rebuilding Saints team that should only have 2 wins this season then it isn't ever going to happen   This is your quote. I mean I’ve quoted it twice. It was followed by calling people that defended him fugers and several other meltdowns I can also quote.    Shame you for working for a living??? Wow this is a whole new level to your victim mentality thing you like to do. You don’t have to watch games live. Or don’t spend an entire thread arguing about something you didn’t get the full picture of. I miss parts of games all the time. That’s just life. Not even going into the whole losing all respect thing.
    • Rams ended up firing ST coach and former Panthers coach Chase Blackburn after the loss. Sounds all too familiar.
