#Panthers LB Thomas Davis "not competing. Not making plays. We're not competing enough."

#Panthers LB Thomas Davis says team "flat out isn't playing good football."

#Panthers LB Thomas Davis said last year players swarmed and made up for mistakes. Not happening now. Honesty was refreshing.

Players are are playing reactive and not proactive. I think teams have figured out that if you can slow play our defense you can use their aggressiveness against them, and now the defense is too worried about giving up big plays to play downhill. They just need to get it out of their system.

So the intensity is missing. That's what happens when you let certain players walk in FA

At least TD is being honest. Now, if we could only ask him who the missing piece is

Not a missing piece. TD played much better last year than this year.

Luke too.

Star, CJ, etc too.

Only two players IMO that look better or at least on par from last are Short and Klein.

Hardy didn't cause this....this is the same D we saw late in the Tampa game. McCown being so bad early on made people think this D was dominant and they completely overlooked what D was on the field late against Tampa

Mitchell and DeCoud would be a lot better than Harper, DeCoud

Cam Newton & DeCoud is a lot better than Derek Anderson & DeCoud.

Ya'll need to stop acting like money just flows freely in the NFL. Pitt gave Mitchell $25m guaranteed. And he's playing like a complete bum, just like when he was in Oak. He's not good.

He played well in our system, a lot of players are good system players and Mitchell happens to be one. On top of that, he was a good inspirational player. He isn't great, but I think he is what's lacking on this team.

Better than Roman fuging Harper he is an ex Saint and ex Tide player both teams I hate and he sucks, not good. Mitchell got overpaid but they should have figured out a way to keep him here and if he played like he did last year this year with us 5 Mill  a year would be fine with the way he played.

Ah yes, the age old Pittsburgh gave him 25 million argument!

Riddle me this batman, does he even get offered 25 million if we lock him up during the season????? If the FO would have extended his contract in season, LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE, then Mitchell would still be here! He would have never even been able to test FA and he would have stayed. He loved this team!

We couldn't afford to keep him for sure.  That being said, what he brought to Carolina was physicality, speed, and aggression.  3 things we are severely lacking right now in the secondary.

How do you know the team didn't approach Mitchell during the season?

He came here on a one-year deal to prove that he was worth a big contract. I doubt he was going to extend mid-season on cheaper terms when the sole reason he took a one year deal was to land himself a big payday.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
