I respect him for taking the paycut and handling himself with class at all times, and for that I do feel bad about his release.  That being said, winning organizations don't keep below average players around for being good guys and thus, this was overdue.

This move should also save the Panthers about a million on the cap. IIRC, Godfrey was getting 100k per game that he was on the roster as a way for him to earn back some of the money he gave up to stay with the team.
